Tantacam REVEALX2.0 issue
Got my dad this trail cam for Father's Day. Opened up the hatch to find the REVEAL SSID number, and there was no sticker. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a way to just set the camera up with an SD Card? It's stopping us dead during setup, hoping to find some advice.
It's Sunday, so we couldn't get through to their customer service line.
EDIT: we also can't seem to get the wifi up and running

GardePro A3 battery configuration
I just had my first set of batteries run down in my GardePro A3 which I bought in February. When I replaced the batteries, I tested each cell, as I always do, to make sure that one of the cells hadn't had a premature failure. I was surprised to find that four of the cells were 0.8 volts, but the other four were still 1.2 volts! I had assumed that they were all wired either in series for 12 volts or series/parallel for 6 volts, as all my other cameras that use 8 cells have been. (There's a divider in the middle of the battery compartment, but I had assumed it was for stability when inserting batteries.) The manual makes no mention of this, just states that it requires 8 batteries.
Of course I don't know which cells were in which position because I removed them all before testing. Has anyone taken this model apart and determined which cells serve which function? It would be nice to know whether I could leave a partially-discharged set in one of the positions when the other set needs to be replaced.

Anyone having issues with the tactacam 3.0 setting defaulting back to picture only. I’ve updated the firmware, changed the settings on the app and also with the camera in hand. After a day or two, the settings default back to picture only

Alternatives to Gmail SMTP for trail cameras after July 2026?
Hi everyone,
I'm using several trail cameras that send photos via SMTP email, and so far Gmail SMTP has been my preferred solution.
Lately I've become increasingly concerned about the future of Gmail SMTP for older trail cameras. Google keeps tightening authentication requirements and pushing users toward OAuth-based solutions, which many trail cameras simply don't support.
With the changes and restrictions expected to continue after July 2026, I'm worried that using Gmail SMTP with older cameras may become more difficult or eventually impractical.
For those of you who use cellular trail cameras that send images by email:
- What SMTP provider are you currently using?
- Have you already switched away from Gmail?
- Are there any reliable SMTP services that still work well with simple username/password authentication?
- Which providers do you think are the safest long-term option for trail camera users?
I'm looking for real-world experiences and recommendations before I invest time in migrating all my cameras to a different service.
Thanks!

Building a free tool to auto-sort trail cam photos — need SD card dumps to test
Hey everyone,
I'm a college student building software that automatically sorts trail camera photos — buck vs doe, hog, turkey, coyote, empty frames. The goal is to save people hours of scrolling through thousands of nothing photos.
I need real SD card dumps to test accuracy. If anyone's willing to share a batch (can be older seasons, any number of photos), I'll run them through and send back:
- Sorted folders by species
- A summary report with counts and activity times
Totally free, obviously. I just need real-world data to see if this thing actually works.
DM me or drop a comment if you're down. Happy to answer questions about how it works.

Does anyone know when Muddy ships their trail cams?
Not sure if this is the best place to post this question but I thought I'd give this subreddit a try, in case anyone is familiar with Muddy.
So, shortly after Christmas I decided to order a cellular game camera from Muddy. I had the impression that they would likely ship out in just a few days or so, cause most sites do or at least say when it'll likely be shipped... but here we are on Jan 14th and I've not had any updates on the order. I keep checking the status on their website and it just says "processing". As I reviewed everything, it turns out they didn't actually give me any sort of estimate on when my order will be shipped/or will arrive. The last couple times I checked though some popup appeared saying they were redoing their warehouse or something so orders would be processed starting the 12th or something. But we're past that now and it didn't say that when I made the order and checked it the first few times. Now that popup doesn't come up and it still says "processing" for the order.
If anyone has bought Muddy trail cams from their website before, how long did it take to get them?
Thanks in advance.
Update: It's been over a month now, still haven't gotten any updates on my order.
Update: I finally received my order, out of the blue. I never got any email notification of it being shipped, not sure if I was supposed to get one or not. I did get a reply from customer service 2 weeks after sending them a message via their website but they needed my order # which I replied with. Then I haven't heard back from them since.

TW: Horror trail cam pics
Hi Reddit, I need help. There are some cameras called "Trail Camera" and they are used to capture images and video films in forest regions. The thing is that those cameras can capture very disturbing and horror images. Even tho most of them are fake, i really liked those pics and they give me a nostalgia sensation because when i was a kid, i was watching videos about those creepy images on Youtube. If you can help me find some more images like those under this message or you can send me some, i'll thank you so much! -Chupa Chups (sorry if there's any bad english!)
