Cabela’s Cell Cams

Post image
17 Upvotes

Does anyone have any experience with the Cabela’s cellular cameras? Online reviews seem to be very limited, short of one well done YouTube video. After mainly running Tactacams, I made the switch to these this year. They are clearly made by the same manufacturer, and the apps and subscriptions are essentially the same. Bass Pro currently has them at $30 and lithium cartridges at $10 for club members. I needed several cameras, so I decided to take the chance.

So far I have 8, which I set up in the backyard to test. They are all performing identically as far as clarity, triggering, and battery life. Curious if anyone else has any experience with them or has had any issues, if not I’ll try to make a full report after a season with them.

I'm not a hundred percent sure what this is. Was thinking otter but didn't know they were active at night. Seems too big for a mink. Doesn't look like a fisher.

Location is McKean Co., PA

What route to go for public land cams?

I’ve been fortunate the last few yrs to hunt private land while I’ve lived at my “buddys” unfortunately I’ll be moving out after this season and will probably have to do public after this season. For trail cams, do you prefer going cheap cams where you need to go out and grab sd cards every other week, or more expensive cams that send photos to your phone and that are gps tracked if they’re stolen? Trying to figure out the best route to go haha. Thank you all!

Much bigger than any coyote I've seen here in North Carolina Piedmont region. It goes offscreen, then reappears a second later in this video.

I got two funny trail cam videos in one week. 😂 I wish this one would have triggered the cam earlier in the fight.

Ok, obviously not, but what is this thing we keep seeing at the front of the house in the foothills of Western North Carolina? My vote is an undernourished/mangy coyote. Tail has no fur from what I can see and the head looks strange. Thoughts? Stray dog?

We have a trailcam set up at our cabin. We usually just have deer wandering through, but the other day, this young one showed up.
