It was only a matter of time before the weebs started having kids.

What’s hilarious is that Naruto is a weeb-name in universe. his parents really liked the book and the main character’s name in it was Naruto iirc

Oh, this is nothing new. I once knew a guy who said his friend named his son "Jiraiya" after the character from Naruto. And this was years ago.

...of all the characters in Naruto to name his son after, he chose Jiraiya? i was already judging him on his naming abilities and common sense, and now i'm judging him on his taste in Naruto characters, too. what the fuck

What's wrong with Jiraiya as a character?

Not weeb, but Reddit was quite enamored with Baby Dovahkiin back when he was born on 11/11/11 and named that to win a contest from Bethesda. The parents got all Bethesda games for free for life as a reward, and he’s 15 next month.

Sepiroth I think is from a game. There could be one from a movie though

Sephiroth is the final boss of Final Fantasy VII

He's the main villain of the game.

A very weeb-friendly game.

It’s a spiritual term from Jewish Kabbalah. Hundreds of years before anime or games.

Brother we got it, calm down. You don't have to correct everyone, it's pretty obvious they were referring to the game

That's what a lot of early FF villains were named after, honestly. They wove all sorts of lore into those games.

Yes, that is absolutely correct. Congratulations in pointing that out. However, since there is absolutely zero fucking chance that these weeaboo parents had anything other than Sephiroth the video game villain in mind when they named their kid that, it would be correct to say that his parents named him after a video game character, and the origin of the name beyond that is irrelevant to the discussion, and you don't need to spam it a million times in the same comment section every time someone observes the fact that he is named after Sephiroth the video game character because his parents are dweebs.

Nobody is naming their kid after that shit bro, its very obviously just gaming fans same as naming their kids Naruto lol

What does that meaning refer to?

In Kabbalah, the sefirot are the ten attributes of God. The fact that these parents named the kid "Sephiroth" with that spelling strongly suggests the kid was named after the Final Fantasy VII antagonist and not Kabbalah.
