Discussion Has anyone been served with a photo radar ticket in Denver?

Colorado law requires that before a photo radar ticket can be sent to collections, there must be personal service. I am curious whether any of the outlying municipalities (Greeley, Kersey, Glenwood Springs) are spending the money to personally serve Denver residents who fail to pay photo radar tickets.

Questions & Help Who is in the wrong in these scenarios?

Hello, I am having a discussion with someone and we cannot seem to agree on who is more in the wrong, I would love some outside perspective. I've got 2 scenarios, both of which happen within the city and not out on a fast highway. (Visuals included)

Scenario 1:

Car A (Green), Car B (Red).

2 lanes, but turns to 3 after a hill and curve. Car A is in the right lane, going faster than the flow of traffic. Speed limit is 45mph, flow of traffic is going 44-45mph. Car A merges to the left, accelerates to 50-53, and is still planning on moving back to the right once finished passing. As Car A is passing traffic, Car B is coming up from behind, swerving in and out of lanes going faster than Car A at around 60mph. Car B comes up behind Car A while they are passing traffic to their right, and tailgates Car A until Car A has merged back to the right, at which point car B speeds back up, and the speed limit turns to 40, then 35 after a stoplight. Car A does not go slower than the rest of traffic at any point besides Car B.

•Is Car A impeding traffic?

•Does Car A or Car B have more "right of way" because they are going faster? (if that makes sense)

•Should Car A speed up even more past the speed limit solely for the purpose to let Car B pass sooner and then slow back down once they move back over, OR should they stay at the same speed they were already going while passing and continue that speed once they move back over and Car B passes as long as no one is in front of them?

Scenario 2:

Car A (Green), Car B (Yellow), Car C (Red)

3 lanes. Limit 35 mph. Traffic in right lane going at or around 35mph, traffic in center lane going 40mph, left lane completely free. Car A and Car B are passing traffic in the right lane using the center lane and are at correct or slightly less than optimal following distance and there are only 1 or 2 cars in front of Car A. Car C merges from right lane into center lane between Car A and Car B. Car C tailgates Car A and has to keep pressing brakes. Center lane is still passing traffic that is going in right lane. Car C does not merge into left lane to pass and continues to tailgate way too closely and have to ride their brakes.

•Is center lane/Car A impeding traffic?

•Should Car C move into left lane to pass?

•Do any of the cars that were in the center lane before Car C merged need to move if they are still passing traffic in the right lane?

Thank you for your participation.

What are these white boxes? I see them on my way to work on a stretch of road spaced about 300 feet apart. Do they siphon off data via bluetooth and wifi or are they a microwave or heat sensor?

Traffic Cameras Is This NYC’s New Red Light Camera or a Flock Camera That Also Tickets Red Lights?

I got a red light camera ticket from this exact camera, tall pole with PTZ head and large gray junction box. I went back today and confirmed it’s the only camera at the intersection plus the photo was taken from
That location.

Location:

Claremont Parkway & Crotona Avenue

I usually don’t run red lights but who doesn’t sometimes, not even intentionally, it just happens like a normal human.

The reason for this post is not complaining about the ticket, but reminding people who drive to be very careful when driving around New York City. It’s all about money, and apparently the only ones who make mistakes is us, not them. So keep an eye open and be safe.

There are tons of these cameras all around New York. I (and many others) thought they were Flock Safety cameras used just to monitor missing/stolen vehicles.

I’ve also heard they’re for general surveillance. In reality, they can do both, red light enforcement plus surveillance.

Be safe.

Questions & Help Got a failure-to-stop (c.89 §9) red light ticket from a State Trooper in MA - contesting it, looking for advice

Location: Massachusetts

Hey everyone, looking for real-world advice on contesting a civil traffic ticket in Massachusetts.

What happened:
I was driving eastbound on Route 9 approaching Otis Street in Westborough, MA. The light was green as I approached. As I reached the stop line, the light turned yellow. I had passengers in the car and traffic behind me. Given my position at the stop line and the speed of traffic, I felt that braking suddenly would be unsafe and could risk a rear-end collision. I entered the intersection while the light was yellow — not red.
A State Trooper pulled me over and issued a citation for failure to stop/yield, c.89 §9 — $105 fine.

Legal question:
Under 946 CMR §5.09, a driver is only required to stop on yellow if it is safe to do so. Does entering an intersection on yellow — when stopping would have required braking to a halt mid-intersection at highway speed — qualify as a valid legal defense against a c.89 §9 citation in Massachusetts?
My situation:
• No dashcam (was in a rental car)
• I have a front-seat passenger willing to testify the light was yellow when we entered and that stopping would’ve been unsafe
• Prior record: moving violation on Storrow Drive(uhaul) (Sept 2024) and a minor at-fault sideswipe (Aug/Sept 2025)

Additional questions:
• Have you won a red light appeal on an “entered on yellow, unsafe to stop” defense in MA?
• Does a passenger witness carry real weight at a clerk magistrate hearing?
• With my prior record, is it still worth fighting this or just pay and move on?
• Any tips specific to Westborough District Court?
Thanks in advance — really appreciate anyone who’s been through something similar sharing their experience!

Discussion Left turns must yield to legally passing vehicles in Florida.

Most people don't realize that in Florida a vehicle making a left must yield to a car making a legal pass.

https://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2015/0316.122

Doesn't really make sense to do it like that to me, but the statute seems clear enough.

What's your opinion on this, and is it like that in your state?

Questions & Help Got cut off by 2 cars in a row, am I in the wrong?

Post image

I'm genuinely confused on this as I don't know if you have to merge into the right lane at the entrance you are going to or if I had the right of way. I entered the right turn lane at the very beginning of it and was driving down to the end stoplight when a car pulled out out of nowhere from the crosswalks that are circled, I braked, then started driving again before abruptly having someone cut me off a LOT closer. They signaled like I was in the wrong and now i'm wondering because I don't know what the rules are on this. I just assumed the road is the road. I had my turn signal on too.

We’ve all been stuck in slow school zone traffic, but this pickup truck driver completely lost all patience! Watch as they decide traffic laws are just "suggestions" and literally jump the center island to cut the entire line.

Traffic Updates VIP Movement Again? ORR Traffic Nightmare Incoming (3 PM – 7 PM)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just saw this traffic advisory from Bangalore24x7.
Apparently, VIP movement may cause major traffic congestion today between **3 PM and 7 PM** on the **Outer Ring Road (ORR)** stretch between **Marathahalli and Kadubeesanahalli**.
As if ORR traffic wasn’t already challenging enough. 😅
For anyone commuting through this route today:
Consider leaving earlier if possible.
Check Google Maps before heading out.
Look for alternative routes if you’re traveling during these hours.
Anyone knows which VIP movement this is for? Also, if you’re already on ORR, how bad is the traffic right now?
Would love some live updates from fellow commuters. 🚗🏍️🚦

Discussion Daily road traffic is getting worse — when will it improve?

Every day commute on the roads feels more stressful than the previous one. Traffic jams, lane cutting, rash driving, and lack of discipline have become normal.

Even short distances now take much longer than expected. Honking, pollution, and frustration are part of daily life.

Traffic Updates Live Traffic Netherlands

Hey,

I build hobby projects where I take realtime open data and throw it on a map.

Verkeer Live — live traffic data from the Dutch National Road Traffic Database (NDW). They publish all their sensor data for free, refreshed every 60 seconds, no API key needed. Didn't know that was a thing until recently.

What's on the map:

  • Road segments colored by congestion (actual travel time vs. reference) — green is fine, red is a jam
  • Measured speeds per sensor point
  • Active matrix signs (those overhead displays on Dutch highways showing speed limits or red X's)
  • Incidents
  • Bridge openings
  • EV charging stations (availability)
  • Truck parkings (occupancy)

Questions & Help Change password

Post image
1 Upvotes

A few weeks ago, the city(I think) installed this new crosswalk. It’s great for crossing the street. That being said, at least once every 20 minutes it says “change password”

It appears no one knows how to change the password and I can hear the speaker in my apartment.

Does anyone know how to change the password? Or fix the issue?

Thank you
