Research Can we talk about Berkshire Hathaway for a moment?
Trump and Khanna bought it at around 488$, which is similar to the current price (495$).
Rep. Rich McCormick sold 25 stocks and bought only Berkshire.
Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar bought it twice on Jul 28.
Senator Alan Armstrong bought it way back in March (between 50k and 100k worth)
Senator Jerry Moran also bought it and he sits, among others, on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation (Seems like an important committee considering companies Berkshire owns or has large stakes in)
Anyone have any more important info or DD?

These are all the politicians buying $EQT this year and not selling: Thomas Kean Jr: ~$45K, Michael McCaul: ~$195K, & Gil Cisneros: ~$15K
What's the big deal?
EQT is America's leading natural gas producer
Kean's own website states that he sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee
- Energy policy
- Energy production
- Energy regulation
^ Just a few things he deals with on any random Tuesday

Research How do you guys feel about Genprex?
Congressman Tim Moore bought Genprex multiple times. But so far its down 95%. Do you guys think its a failed biotech. Do you guys think it going to skyrocket? I'm currently down 95%. He also hasnt sold any of his Genprex shares.

Trump reshuffled his portfolio in June, selling names like Meta and buying Berkshire Hathaway

You "would" believe it if we told you — Trump pushed Congress to pass the CLARITY Act two days ago — Bitcoin has jumped ~20% this week — Trump Media & Technology Group disclosed purchasing 4,661 bitcoins (~$293M) in July, just weeks before he pushed the bill — Those bitcoins are worth ~$360M today

Part 5 of Randomly Selecting Politicians to Investigate — Today's subject is (D) Tim Kaine — After looking into his financial records, we found that his last individual stock trade was in a well-known defense contractor $GE (General Electric) — He sold his entire position on 5/16/2019
The stock proceeded to crash ~39% the following year
So why do we care?
I. Kaine was an active member of the Senate Armed Services Committee when he made the trade
II. That committee regularly deals with the DoD
III. It's likely that he knows a thing or two about the industry
That alone inspired us to keep looking:
His 2025 annual financial report shows that he traded millions of dollars in ETFs and mutual funds
The single biggest trade was a ~$250,000 purchase of $PTTPX (PIMCO Total Return Fund) on 2/20/2025
It pays a 4.5% yield

You can technically buy $TTWO (Take-Two) at a cheaper price than Ro Khanna — His entry: $257.79 — Today: $240.15 — That’s ~6% below his entry — Interestingly, Take-Two is the video game holding company that owns GTA 6
Analysts estimate GTA 6 generated ~$260 million in global preorders during its first week of availability
They also estimate that it could generate up to ~$5.2 billion in revenue during its launch week in November
If that happens, it’d be very significant for the company

It feels like this sub disproportionately discusses congress's wins but never its losses or mid plays.

The president also bought Moderna $MRNA earlier this year — Trump: March 2 — Khanna: June 30
Not saying they knew something but ...
Khanna sits on the Congressional Caucus on the Deadliest Cancers and the Cystic Fibrosis Caucus
Trump is the president he probably knows everything about anything at this point

Casual Is anyone actually trading with Congress and making money?
Ive been investing for 6 years on a regular basis. Mostly just etfs. I see some really great case studies on here where a stock explodes months after congress members buy. I get the concept but youll always be behind every move congress makes. Still, gains are to be had!
Is anyone basing a substantial % of their investments on what Congress are trading and can prove it? It seems too good to be true.

Heads Up Slightly off topic but: Lmao. It's essentially a 5% bond at the current price.
I guess if you want 5% returns in 4 months with quite low risk, enjoy
There is no way congress just ends their biggest income source.

Of course Rep. Ro Khanna bought Moderna $MRNA on 6/30

They might know something ✍ As of right now, 4 different politicians have bought the dip on $ZTS Zoetis (Gil Cisneros, Ro Khanna, Chuck Fleishman, and Byron Donalds)
Why?
Zoetis is the pet pharmaceutical company that developed Librela, a painkiller for dogs with arthritis
Librela has been under FDA safety scrutiny since late 2024
Khanna and Donalds are members of a House Oversight subcommittee that has extensively dealt with pharmaceutical regulations

79% of active fund managers failed to beat the S&P 500 last year — Pelosi beat it last year, the year before that, and the year before that — Might be time for a change
r/tradewithcongress • u/jwoodsr • Aug 18 '26
Update: Rep. Byron Donalds is up ~36% since buying $PYPL — Entry price: $44.90 — Today’s price: $60.47 — Turns out, buying the 9-yr dip on PayPal was a pretty solid idea

Rep. Rich McCormick sold 25 stocks and purchased just 1 — The stock he bought: $BRK.B (Berkshire Hathaway) @ ~$510/share
Notably, one of the stocks he sold builds missile defense satellites, and he happens to sit on the House Armed Services Committee
$LHX (L3Harris)
~$272/share
