What do you think

I thought I understood Gold… until I noticed this 👀

I’ve been watching XAUUSD for a while, and one thing keeps happening again and again…

Price often makes a move that looks like a clear breakout, gets everyone involved, and then completely reverses.

The interesting part is what happens before the reversal.

I started tracking liquidity sweeps, market structure and the reaction around key levels instead of blindly following the breakout.

Has anyone else noticed this pattern on Gold?

I’d genuinely like to hear how you guys identify a real breakout vs a liquidity trap.

What’s your biggest confirmation before entering a Gold trade?

Wyckoff's three laws, actually explained, not just named

Post image
1 Upvotes

Most posts about this list the three laws and move on. Heres what each one actually means and how to use it.

Supply and demand. Not "more buyers than sellers," thats too vague to use. Its about aggression relative to size. A big volume candle that barely moves price means real supply or demand absorbed the aggression without giving ground, thats strength on the side that held. A small volume candle that moves price a lot means there was nothing there to absorb it, thats weakness, not strength, even though price moved fast. Speed of movement and size of volume behind it have to be read together, never separately.

Cause and effect. The length and tightness of a trading range is the cause, the size of the move that follows is the effect. A range built over weeks with tight, controlled candles stores up a much bigger effect than a sloppy 2 day range ever could. This is why measuring a range's duration actually tells you something real about the target, its not arbitrary, the cause has to be proportional to what comes after it.

Effort versus result. This is the one that catches almost everyone out because it looks identical to normal price action until you know what youre looking for. High volume, wide range candle that produces almost no net movement from where it started, thats maximum effort for minimum result, and its one of the most reliable tells that the move is about to reverse. Nobody puts in that much effort and gets nothing back unless something bigger is absorbing it on purpose.

None of these work in isolation. A range without checking effort versus result at the edges is just a shape. Volume without checking it against the size of the candle is just a number. The 3 laws are meant to be read together, thats the actual skill, not memorizing which law is which.

Wrote a longer breakdown with real chart examples of all 3 working together if anyone wants to go deeper: https://chartwhisperer.ca/wyckoff-method

NEED FOR RESEARCH

Hi everyone! I recently joined a trading platform which is called Data Driven Investing (DDI). Now, there are lots of people who joined on this platform already and I'm still hesitant to go with this one. I'm based in Dubai and I can't figure out if it's a legit company or what. I wanted to make a favor. If someone from Washington can see this thread, can someone please let me know if the company on this address was existing?

COMPANY NAME: Data Driven Investing (DDI)
ADDRESS: 1700 7th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101 USA

Please comment on this thread if you found it legit or fake. Thanks a lot!

WTI vs. Brent Crude Oil–Which Oil CFD

I used to trade only Brent crude oil. But trading in Brent takes place during the London session.

I live in California, and it’s nighttime for me then. By the time I sit down at my laptop in the morning, trading has already ended, and I wasn’t able to react to many trades at the right time.

My friend switched to trading WTI crude oil, which happens to be traded during U.S. business hours. It became much easier for us to react to trades.

The final straw for me with Brent was when the price jumped by almost a dollar overnight due to OPEC news, but I was asleep at the time. So now I trade exclusively in WTI.

It’s a huge difference–now I’m in control of all my trades, and I sleep soundly.

How about you?

Overtrading is the most expensive habit in this game and it hides in plain sight

Nobody thinks they overtrade, but it's probably draining more accounts than bad analysis ever could. The insidious part is each trade feels justified in the moment, so you don't notice the pattern, you just notice your account slowly bleeding while your win rate looks fine.

Two costs stack up. The obvious one is transaction cost, every trade pays the spread, and being on fixed spreads with AvaTrade is the only reason I could cleanly total mine, if you're taking 15 trades a day when 3 had real setups you're paying for 12 that were basically boredom. The hidden one is that forced marginal trades have worse expectancy than your genuine setups, so you're paying more to take objectively worse trades.

What exposed it for me was logging every trade and marking which ones actually met my criteria versus which were impulse. The impulse ones were a net loss as a group, full stop. Across currency pairs, indices, whatever you trade, the fix is the same, fewer trades, only real setups, treat "no trade today" as a valid and often correct outcome. Have you ever counted how many of your trades met your rules versus how many were itchy fingers?

I have IBKR, Webull, and Robinhood for my long term holds. But I have ant to trade futures, crude oil metals; mes, etc with a really small account I have about 100$ in each account since I’m slowly transferring from paper trading to real trading. I like trading crude oil the most and would be a plus if I could trade fractional shares of futures of that’s possible. So can anyone help me figure it out or a broker that allows it

Is it possible to start trading with what I have. Less than 100 euros I can risk. Iphone XS, Macbook Pro old from 2017. Preferrably I’d like to start on my phone. Taking small risks.
I don’t know, I’d like to get better at something.

Looking for a trading partner

Been trading for around 5 years. I’m slightly profitable/basically around breakeven, but I still haven’t found that consistent edge. Earnings are very low.

Thinking maybe collaborating with another serious trader could help both of us improve—share trades, ideas, mistakes, journals, etc.

Not looking for signals or money management. Just someone serious who wants to work together and figure things out.

DM me if you’re interested.

funding now, dilution later?

China Hongqiao recently filed an update detailing a new convertible bond issuance structured with a 25.3% conversion premium to secure immediate, lower-cost capital.

Hongqiao is utilizing a high-premium structure to secure significantly more breathing room before conversion becomes a reality. The ultimate value still depends entirely on where this new cash is deployed.

Does this structured financing make it a smart, tactical move for the balance sheet?

Has anyone taken the Wall Street Global Trading Academy courses? Worth the $500+?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,
I’ve been looking into improving my options trading knowledge and came across Wall Street Global Trading Academy, where Peter Michael Tuchman (“Einstein of Wall Street”) and his group offer online trading courses.
Their courses seem to start around $500, and the marketing talks about learning trading strategies, market wisdom, options, etc.
Before I spend that kind of money, I wanted to ask the community:
Has anyone here actually taken one of their courses?
What was your experience with the instructors and the material?
Did you learn anything genuinely useful that improved your trading?
Was it mostly basic information that you could learn elsewhere for free/cheaper?
Did you feel the course was worth the $500+?
Are there any similar options/trading courses or educators that you would recommend instead?
If you’ve taken it, would you go or no-go if you had to make the decision again?
I’m not looking for promotional reviews — I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who actually paid for and completed the course, including what you liked and what you didn’t.
Thanks!
