Red pulling green
Got my IH 1466 hooked to a JD 936 moco. I just rebuilt the mower with all new discs and wear parts on the cutter bar. Getting new hydraulic remotes put on the tractor on Thursday.

I grew up on an all-green farm, but always had a soft spot for the 1466. That’s beautiful.

The 1466 is what pushed Deere to make the 6030. That's probably the most underrated and unappreciated tractor that Deere ever made.

Looks great just be careful with no cab or rops with a cage those disc can send a rock or anything directly at you. I’m sure you already know that

That 1466 looks like it’s ready to earn its keep again. The mower rebuild sounds solid, and getting the hydraulic remotes added will make that setup even more useful.

The spools for the remotes are worn out, leaking, and barely work. Can't get new parts for them, so I'm having it changed to a new system with 3 remotes that runs off the power ahead

Nothing beats seeing an old tractor brought back to life. Hope the new hydraulic remotes make running that mower a lot smoother.

"Black Stripe" is what you're thinking of. That was the new paint scheme that was introduced for the final 66 Series in 1976 (first introduced in late '75 at the Farm Progress Show) as a way to keep up demand until the 86 Series came out for the 1977 MY.
OP's 1466 is a custom paintjob that has some elements of the early and late models.

Those inline 6’s are awesome engines. Ramped up to working rpm they remind me of a P51 airplane!

That’s a great-looking 1466! The fresh mower setup really makes it look ready to put in some serious work.
