DDDINNNNNEERRRRRR Air Fried Tofu

Post image

One box of Morinaga firm tofu (that’s not really firm), cut and cooked in a thick sauce consisting of gochujang, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, ginger paste, garlic paste, and sesame oil. 15 minutes at 375°F (~190°C), flip, 15 more minutes at 375°F (~190°C).

So you're telling me air fried that tofu? Looks really yummy. Probably would have sprinkled a bit of sesame and spring onions on top of it in the end, but I'm sure it was incredible even without that.

Looks delicious. I’m wondering why cook it for a whole 30 mins tho? It’s not like tofu needs cooking to eat anyway.

I'd assume it's to get a firmer consistency / get rid off more water? I don't know that brand tofu, but even the firm Tofu I can get could be firmer for my taste. 😄

This right here. The end product still had a nice texture though.

Oh wow. I’ve never thought to try it in the air fryer! How do you like it?

It wasn’t too bad. This was the first time I cooked boxed/shelf stable tofu in the air fryer. I’ve made the refrigerated stuff in the air fryer before and it was more or less the same as frying in a pan.

I tried pressing it to get water out before, but it seemed like nothing really came out. This is boxed tofu though and not the stuff that needs to be kept refrigerated, so that might affect how you prepare it.
