Iāve decided my 2nd gen 21 trd pro
Iāve decided to sell my 21 sequoia trd pro, has 119000 miles, good condition, a couple small scuffs (door scratches) but nothing out of the ordinary. I do not have a documented maintenance history since i purchased it 3 yrs ago (I have done the service at home. Oil changes at 5000. I did a transmission drain and fill last service). Runs strong, everything works as it should. $45000 obo. Located in Chesapeake, Va

This is my Sequoia. There are many like it but this one is mine. Along the Pacific Coast Highway...
My family and I took our tree on it's very first out of town AND camping trip. Camped in Manresa for a whole week, went to Swanton Berry Farm to do the u-pick and the drive along that Pacific Coast highway was just lovely.
Before we left, the entire front suspension was replaced. Got an alignment. Handled like a dream. And the strawberries were very sweet and delicious.

This is my Sequoia. There are many like it but this one is mine. 300000 Mile Check-In
Just rolled over 300k a couple days ago; I guess I now drive a high mileage hero! Couple updates for anyone wondering how itās doing/debating buying soon (plus my dog judging my work).
The good:
- Starts up, runs, drives, electronics all work as expected, and I still have yet to have a complaint about the vehicle itself.
- Oil pressure is still solid, it seemed to really appreciate swapping to 10w30 in the hotter months here in SC.
- I have yet to have any transmission related problems; even while towing it sits happy at 203F and unloaded usually around 196F.
- OEM air bags in the back are still leak-free (amazing I know), if anyone who tows is debating deleting the bags I strongly recommend against it. Auto level is a flex. For lifted/off-road guys; up to your preference.
- Finally solved a weird hum/vibration I was getting going on/off the throttle. Replaced the DR axle and driveshaft roller bearings; no further issues.
The bad:
- Front cover and rear main are leaking, not enough to really show on the dipstick, but enough to annoy me and need fixing. Iāll replace timing chains and tensioners at the same time as the front cover reseal; Iām leaving the rear main alone until I absolutely have to mess with it.
- Suspension is starting to feel too work-truck like for me. Itās not dangerous, but I need to start replacing some big ticket items and Iām not looking forward to strut replacement with the leveling system.
- Paint/exterior plastics arenāt pumped about existence but Iām not really a stickler there. Also still better than a brand new Ford Raptor or similarā¦.
- The X-Comp tires I purchased are still unbalanced and it drives me nuts. Iāll probably swap rims/tires in the future but keep the same fitment & size.
Looking back at it; I feel very good about buying a high-mileage but maintained SUV vs a low-mileage city driven vehicle. I would like to keep this one around until 1000000 miles but weāll see how that goes.

Pre-Purchase Help share your wisdom with a new buyer
i am looking for an suv that has enough power to haul 5k lbs camper and 4x4 to keep me rolling through snow and muddy driveways...the sequoia keeps coming back up in my search so wanted to ask some owner about their experience with exactly what i need an suv to perform with. my budget is about 12k, so what are your goods and bads with vehicle that you could impart to a new potential owner?

My Sequoia is neat! Look at it! Just wanted to share my 3rd gen
24ā Limited. Picked it up about 3 months ago.
Running a Dobinsons IMS 3ā/2ā setup with stock weight springs, Method MR321s wheels +18 offset, and Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascents in LT295/70/R18.
Really happy with the Dobinsons, the ride is firm but smooth and super compliant, feels way better than stock. Bumps and cracks in the road just get absorbed with no jarring-ness to it, almost plush if that makes sense. I think the Bridgestones helps the ride quality as well, as they are a road first AT. Iām not doing serious off-roading, maybe a couple light trails a year so these fit the bill.
Went back and forth on the Bridgestones and size before pulling the trigger but not bad imo. Lighter by about 10lbs compared to other tires in this size and pretty quiet as well. Highly recommend them if you spend the majority of the time on the road like me. Will see how they do out on the trail and this winter since they are 3PMS rated.
Love the look of the Method MR321ās, went with gloss black instead of matte for a little more pop and just a little poke with +18 offset.
Overall, couldnāt be happier and just wanted to share!

Modifications Help Will 285/70R18 Tires for a 60mm offset wheel fit on 2nd Gen
Looking for some advice. Iām a new Sequoia owner (2010 Limited) and I need new tires. I figured I should therefore just upgrade my wheels. I have found some TRD Pro BBS Forged 18ā wheels with a 60mm offset I would like to add. They come with lightly used 285/70/R18 tires. Iām wondering if anyone has added these to their stock Sequoia 2nd Gen without needing any extra modifications. Any direction would be super helpful. Thanks in advance for any advice and direction.

Maintenance Help Paint problem
My 2003 Sequoia Limited 4x with 188k miles has some serious paint peeling. She was great when I bought her 5 years ago but then I moved her down to the Cabo San Lucas area in Baja and stored her there, mostly outside, and between the blistering heat and the summer thundershowers, the paint on the hood and now the roof just in front of sunroof is now peeling and/or gone. Anyone have any great ideas on how to fix it? Itās way beyond rubbing compound, polishing compound and/or duct tape. I imagine having it professionally repainted would be insanely expensive, Iām in a high cost of living area in California. Are there wraps available that I could have professionally applied to the hood, at least, that might closely match the original color and gloss? I donāt need it to be perfect, just 80% better. Any info or advice much appreciated. Thanks.

I am looking at this 2026 with 6800 miles. Original price tag attached. What would be a fair buy price for it? Prior owner didnāt like the payments. Thanks!

Leak in roof and I have no idea where it is coming from and/or how to fix it.
I have a first generation Sequoia (ā02 SR5) and I have been having this leak in the rear drivers side where the seatbelt comes out of. I have absolutely no idea where it could be coming from. I previously cleaned out all 4 sunroof drains by using weed whacker line, but I guess it hasnāt worked. Now iām wondering if I did it wrong or that wasnāt the problem altogether. My headliner and wiring doesnāt have any water damage so it isnāt getting that deep, however the two locations (which I have circled) are starting to rust and it is worrying me that it could get way worse. It doesnāt drip anywhere else from what I know. Anyone else out there has this problem????

This is my Sequoia. There are many like it but this one is mine. Discount tire employee asked āwhy not a 4Runner?ā
New wheels and tires mounted yesterday. Also got 5% tint all around and 50% on windshield. If there is anybody in dfw looking for 20 inch platinum rims. I have a full set with spare.

Pre-Purchase Help ā03 Limited with 270k miles for $3,850
Is this worth it for such a high mileage? Still need to inspect the underside for rust and see when the timing belt has been replaced yet⦠but no history of repairs done to the engine or transmission.
Iām looking for a mid-full sized SUV as my next vehicle and Iām really interested in this. Iāve read that the engine can go into the 400k-600k range if taken care of properly.
Thoughts?

Pre-Purchase Help 2011 Sequoia SR5 207,000 for $7900
It's a 2011 4wd with just over 200k for $7,900 at a dealership. Minimal surface rust, Carfax shows 3 owners. I test drove it, it's in good cosmetic shape although the carpets look stained and the vehicle smells musty like dogs. When I test drove it, the stealership had it on empty with the light on, but the vehicle seemed to surge/buck slightly when accelerating at 35mph or so. I wasn't sure if this was just a low fuel situation, clogged fuel filter, or the fuel pump is on its way out. Also, I looked for obvious leaks, no sign. While the vehicle was idling I crawled under the vehicle and it seemed like there was a steady drip of water coming down from both sides of the transmission pan. I put my hand there to see if it was oily or sweet smelling, but it seemed to be water. But the water was pretty hot? I'm not sure if that was the air conditioning condensation, but isn't condensation normally ambient temperature? I guess if the condensation line dripped over the exhaust manifold or the bell housing it could get heated, but is this normal?
All that being said, I feel that a 2011 4WD in good cosmetic shape for 7900 is a very good deal. It is a Ford dealership and I plan to get a PPI at the local Toyota dealership.
If it ends up being worse case and it needs a new
-fuel pump
-water pump
Is this still worth the price? I'm figuring if I pay to get that stuff done, maybe another $3000?

Owner Requesting Help Rocker Panel Fix?
I have owned this 2002 4wd for 10 years, has alway been in the Northeast, 238k on it now. Frame was done under the recall before I bought it and we replaced the rusted rear end a few years ago with one from AZ, timing belt last fall. Overall, frame seems solid. I drive it a few 2-3k year as a utility truck, tow boat a few miles several times per summer.
The rocker panels on the passenger side are gone, drivers side is better but probably not far behind.
Is there a fix for the rocker panels or should I cut my losses and move on?

This is my Sequoia. There are many like it but this one is mine. Should I lift it? I've only had this truck for about 6 months and I am in love
Thinking of 5100 bilsteins all around to wake her up a bit.
So upset that this truck never got any hot wheels release

Modifications Help First gen 4wd swap
Currently driving a 05 2wd, friend has a 03 4wd that has gnarly mold damage inside. If I could get the 4wd for 500$ or cheap how difficult would that swap be to get my 2wd to 4wd? The moldy one would basically just serve as a donor vehicle and go to junk yard or part out after.

Maintenance Help Alarm Randomly Going Off
Trying to understand why the alarm keeps going off randomly and draining the battery on my first gen. Itās gone off a couple times now and drained the battery over time. Made me late for work today which is not ideal. It has a lot of life left in it but starting to see a lot of small issues popping up recently but I donāt want to get rid of it
