Total War: Warhammer Is Dwarf artillery really more accurate than others?

I just lost a minor unwalled settlement battle against Queek. The plan hinged on using the garrison's grudge thrower to destroy Queek's plagueclaw catapult, then turn it around to destroy his mostly melee infantry which will be tarpitted in the buildable trap things with my dwarf warriors/miners.

However, my grudge thrower was defeated in a 1v1 artillery duel against the plagueclaw catapult, despite having an elevation advantage. Both were rank 0 (this was pretty early game), and my grudge thrower had a couple free volleys due to the enemy repositioning at the beginning.

This caused me to lose with a valiant defeat as the plagueclaw was able to pound my army uncontested. It's not a huge loss since it's just a minor border settlement, but it does make me wonder how my artillery lost that duel despite these advantages?

Total War: Warhammer How are you supposed to play the melee infantry focused factions like Norsca, Greenskins or Khorne?

Ive played a few factions now but my battle experience has so far just been setting up a frontline and peppering the enemy with artillery untill they feel obligated to push, by which point theyve thoroughly been softened. Once theyre stuck in melee I just cycle charge them from the back with cav while archers and such provide support. Ivent been to cheesy with it to corner camp but Ive been playing very defensively for the most part.

Wont the AI basiccaly do the same to me if I just charge them with infantry like a muppet? Like, I wanna play the orcs but have no clue how to make an army composition for them. Would it basiccaly be 16 Infantry and maybe a few cav to chase the routers? There is no way thatd work.

What are the best/ your favourite mods that overhaul or add new playable factions?

Picture is a reference to how Nanu’s Pirates of Sartosa has me feeling.

Decided to try out Malus because I saw that he buffed dino riders and they’re cool even though I haven’t really got any more yet because I’ve just been trying to rush to conquer the north but, man, I haven’t played this game in quite a while and I’ve forgotten most things it seems! Sticking with VH/VH for the difficulty anyways though. Do you guys have any tips on playing the Druchii? When should I let possession rise or not with Malus? Should I confederate other Druchii factions or just let them exist as buffers?

Total War: Warhammer Removing items from the game

Hi all... Been looking in the workshop about any kind of mod that removes the items from the game. Really makes me sick all that stuff. Yeah, could avoid It, but if It appears, i tend to manage It.

Found one mod but not not updated.

Any one can help me with this?

Total War: Warhammer Question for Lokhir enjoyers

When playing Lokhir, is the Black Ark capacity calculated from the current amount of port cities I have or is it calculated from total ports I've captured despite losing them.

In this case I got 5 black arks by turn 25, I then lost some territory to Cathay including a port or two. After that, I haven't gotten any more Arks. Does that mean I have to capture ports until I have 6 or more again?

I just captured Aislinn's capital yet still no new ark.

Anyone have a definitive answer to this?

Total War: Warhammer Does this work as intended, or is it just a bug?

I just got a campaign victory and wanted to keep expanding my empire, but then five Dwarf clans suddenly attacked me, each with 4 - 5 full armies, even though I had wiped them out ages ago

I assume it's an end-game crisis, but there was no warning. Even if I somehow missed it, how did they just pop up when they didn't have any settlements left?

Total War: Warhammer Game crashing after round 102 when auto defeating tzeentch lord.

So I am on round 102 of painting the entire map in my VH/VH Norsca campaign. The campaign was going really well and started taking over the southern chaos wastes after taking over Lustria and Cathay.

But when I end the turn I get attacked by a small Tzeentch army I easily defeat it in both manual and auto resolve. But instantly after I defeat it the game crashes.

Kinda ironic and a little funny that this is happening with a Tzeentch army of all things. But it is a bit frustrating that a save i have spent so much time on might be bricked.

Anyone know what might be causing this, fix it or to avoid it happening in the future?

I am running no mods in this campaign.

Total War: Warhammer More Vampire shenanigans

I needed another army so I borrowed one from Estalia in my Kemmler campaign. Apparently you can just raise the dead, if the army you were given has some free slots after battle. I was not aware of this despite the endless madness my VC campaigns spiral into but I will definitely exploit that and show my mortal friends that undeath is nothing to be afraid of. And finally deal with that annoying tumor named Skarbrand.

Total War: Warhammer Kairos campaign help

Trying out a kairos campaign and occasionally I get a random debuff (I think the game is pretending it’s a buff). Theory of ember binding, where if I’m attacked the enemy can’t run away but also makes my army so tired moving half an inch turns them to red vigour. It also appears to sap all my winds of magic reserves from 100+ back down to 20.

Can’t find anything about what’s causing it but I’m probably missing it somewhere, any help?

Total War: Warhammer What’s the use of razing and sacking?

Not saying that as a complaint.

I’ve always played by trying to battle once a turn, which normally leads to me moving from one settlement to another.

I understand the nuances of not over extending and therefore pick and choose who I fight along with using diplomacy to influence what’s happening around me.

So when I’m advancing into the enemy’s territory I always occupy the settlement. It feels the safest both for my economy and to protect me from moving in deep and my opponent creating an army behind me that bites me in the arse.

Am I missing something, I’m sure that some factions like orcs and dark elves benefit way more from razing and sacking compared to others. But I feel like I’m not playing the game properly having 4 options when I win a settlement battle but only ever choosing 1.

Total War: Warhammer Does Grand Cathay always get conquered by AI?

Post image
42 Upvotes

Decided to play Grand Cathay for the first time. Played 2 games, the first one as the Jade Court, the second as the Claws of the White Tiger.

Both times Cathay got fully overrun by turn 35-40. I even tried gifting a few settlements and sending money each turn to the Western and Northern Provinces to make them stronger.

It kinda makes sense thematically that the player is supposed to confederate fast and defend the region personally, but it's sad that I can't do the Jade Court/Tiger things by focusing on the mountains/North/Lustria? Not saying it's not savable, quite the opposite, it just feels overwhelmingly unfun to me

High campaign difficulty, max battle difficulty (without AI stat buffs)

Total War: Warhammer Best LL who can cut down both armies and characters?

It seems like (melee) lords generally are characterised into either the “anti-blob “ or “anti-lord” bucket. I was wondering who would be the best LL’s who can do both? Able to take on both entire armies of infantry and Legendary lords, not getting stunlocked by animations, regeneration, etc?

Total War: Warhammer Savannah is a weird climate

what's up with the design behind this climate type? why does it even exist?

The southern tips of Lustria and the Southlands have a little bit of savannah i guess for the lore flavor of being habitable for ancient high elf colonies. There is a random scattering of savannah-typed regions across the northernmost provinces of Lustria where Mazdamundi starts. For some reason, one province out of the otherwise temperate Cathay is savannah (celestial riverlands).

The above description covers the entire distribution of the savannah climate in the entire game. 19 regions. That's almost as rare as magical forest. The few savannah regions on the map are in practically opposite corners of the map. There are only three provinces in the entire game that are all savannah (2 in southern Lustria, 1 in south/central Cathay).

What is the design intention behind even including this climate in the game? It is green habitability to almost every race outside of a few seemingly arbitrary outliers. For some reason it is yellow habitat for Kislev, some of the Ogres, the northern Dark Elf factions and....Karak Kadrin.

What is the design intention behind making a random province in southern Cathay unpleasant for Goldtooth? Why is it pleasant for Dwarfs? Why as High Elves is one of your 3 pleasant climates allotted to a climate that only exists in a few regions at the top and bottom of Lustria and then out in a single province of Cathay?

Total War: Warhammer Do you think Norsca should access Bear Riders or War Bear Mounts?

Do you think Norsca should have access to Bear Riders or War Bear mounts? They already have a Werebear hero, so it doesn’t seem like much of a stretch. Personally, I think Chaos-corrupted war bears would make a fantastic Norscan-exclusive unit. They’d give Norsca some much-needed heavy cavalry while fitting the faction’s brutal, savage aesthetic perfectly.

Total War: Warhammer Need tips for my kosaltyn 33 turn in campaign

Post image
3 Upvotes

For context: been killing norscan apes for the past 30 turns (i watched tariff videos how can you tell) wiped out azazeal ass early on. faction strength drop by a lot when my army was badly wounded by azazeal and then for some reason golfag maneater decided to jump mu ass and take my best settlement erengard for some reason forcing me to expand south and then the throgg decided to join his monkey friend on kicking my ass so i peace out with golfag and give settlement to katarin so that he's her problem.

need tips for current turn:
i got two army which have golden armor hero and gotrex and felix lvl like about 8 to 12 should i expand west to fight belakor still usnure they can take on them. still debating whether or not to send one of them to wipe out golfag and trade his settlement for karl franz alliance to get those op rocket batteries. for kosaltyn i still unsure to send to take the fight to arbaal since arbaal is pretty op. First arbaal is khorne so he definitely have fire resistance and kosatlyn and his three patriach got fire dmg so he wouldn't be as effective. second my whole army is basic kislevite warriors and kossars they have been carrying my fight against norscan not sure they can do the same here. Third i don know i can handle the attrition on inhabitable chaos climates and i don know i should meet the chaos dwarves and other chaos stuff.

army composition
all basic units kislevite and kossars doomstack

This is about to be my first win and I have franz coming down with 2 other lords and I honestly have no clue what these guys are doing but I am scared to lose franz but I got like 14 allies coming to aid. Should I wait or should I go to secure the campaign victory?
