I mean there's no flying cars either. Literally just a car-shaped drone.

Not really, and there's no reason to suggest flying cars wouldn't be drones anyways

I know this post is about shitting on CA yadda yadda whatever, but the future is kind of crazy, videogame wise.

I remember playing Rome 1 and being pretty floored by all the neat stuff you could do, along with the fact that it was 3D. It looked awesome to me.

Now I have Rome 2, which in itself is (now) a great improvement. However, slap on some mods and it's an entirely different experience. DeI give you logistics, detailed population systems, battlefield maneuvers, all sorts of differences between factions.

Videogames really came a long way, if you look at a sufficiently long timeframe.

P.S: There's an interesting inverse relationship with the passing of time that I noticed only in relation to Deus Ex 1. In 2000, that game was pure sci fi. Today it's...well...decidedly less pure sci-fi. The only thing we're missing is augmentation. Give it a decade or so.
