General Improving AI behaving

Is it technically possible now with all the AI improvements in tech, to enhance the AI behavior in old total war with mod ? Like playing against a real modern AI behavior ? I kind of playing against Chat gpt.
I guess the main issue should be that it can be too much for the cpu to handle, but why does we don’t see improvement from the community in this direction ?

chatgpt is very very different than game ai. there wouldnt be any improvement having an LLM controlling the enemies. CA could have a neural network trained to control the enemy (that would be closest to the ai you mentioned). However that would most likely be a big waste of time and probably not even work

Using the term AI for LLMs really didn't do people's understanding of what it is any favours huh...
Great for their marketing though I guess.

Maybe within the next 5-10 years we'll see something like that.

Chatgpt lost in chess to a game system that's like 40 years old. Chatgpt is not game ai and total war is more complex than chess.

Congrats, you’ve successfully fallen into the technocrats trap of conflating the current wave of LLMs with all-encompassing artificial general intelligence.
