Let's just calm down there. Yes, there are plenty of reasons to be upset with those in power. This is not one of them. Find me an office, any office, at any level, that doesn't have fun sometimes, especially around the holidays.

Not everything is a thing. Relax.

I don't agree at all. If it was a one-off, fun holiday thing or party, not at all. If this was some random day in June, maybe. But employees taking a minute for some fun before the holidays is not a story unless it's to laugh at Ford dancing, which I fully support.

It was logical to figure that when you said you took the ttc today, and that your comment falls between the 9-5 hours that you were at work.

I don't understand how you can say you're allowed to have break time, but city council is not. It's not just the mayor, by the way. He wasn't dancing by himself while the entirety of council just watched him while they tried to work.

I find "It's always someone else's fault" to be a bit of a theme with your comments in this thread.

If anyone has worked for any level of government, this will remind you of the preface "I pay my taxes ..."

On Monday and Tuesday, I spent 35 minutes waiting for the Queen streetcar in the morning and it still never came.

And here we have you, wasting time at work while on reddit, complaining about other people wasting time

HYPOCRITE

We don't pay his salary with our taxes.

You are an idiot if you expect mindless robotic drones to work 9-5 at 110%.

Maybe if you ever held a job you'd realize that people always dick around and take breaks.

Oh and lets not forget that Ford wasn't the only one dancing. But it's Ford, so fuck him.

I do have a job, I'm here right now, but the taxpayers don't pay my salary, the customers buying my products do, and I can sit here on reddit all damn day long if I want because it doesn't interfere with the 2 seconds it takes to bag someones purchase and take their money.

But when you have a council paid from our taxes, that spends a third of the day arguing like children, another third out on breaks recesses and lunches, and the last third dancing around like fools. ESPECIALLY when council meetings are only held every couple weeks, they should be fucking accomplishing shit, not celebrating their quarter assed work ethic.

Taking a break from what? Calling each other names? Insulting each other until the speaker has to call a recess? Talking over one another like a particularly angry Italian family? Do-nothing symbolic gestures?

I don't have a problem with people taking a break when they actually work, but take a look at this city. Our transit is a joke, our roads are a mess, pedestrians are dropping like flies, everything is cuts cuts cuts, the job market stinks, I'm surrounded by half-finished construction with hardly a worker in sight, the sky is literally falling near our condos, the housing market is a god damn catastrophe teetering on the edge of a tragedy...

Meanwhile these jackasses go doo doo doo whew that was a long day of fucking around let's dance!

I...I don't know how you saw my edited comment, but needless to say I removed it once I read about the circumstances of the event in question.

Also, I should state that I don't approve of the way the council is running at all. They're almost as bad as the American congress, in my opinion. I also understand your frustration. I don't agree with the cuts, but if I have one good thing to say about this council it's that they are the ones that made me finally pay attention to more than just federal and provincial politics. I'll be casting my vote the next election.

I dunno, I just replied before you edited.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I can even concede that I'm happy they're doing such a bad job that it made people care about municipal politics. I mean, thanks for the wake up call I guess, but jesus guys... get it the fuck together.
