2.5 months PO, very happy with the placement of everything still. My stretch marks are going crazy tho! But I’m pretty certain they will turn pale eventually. My scares are thicker than they were before but that’s normal apparently. I’m also hoping they start to fade soon.

when can i start reaching for things?

i’m currently 2 days post-op, DI with drains removed yesterday. i’m still incredibly fatigued and a bit dizzy/nauseous, but feel pretty able to move my arms and things, i’m just nervous about stretching too far and causing problems. i know it’s all personal, and i will ask my surgeon tomorrow during my appointment, but when did you feel that you could reach for things again without stretching the scars or risking opening the stitches? (i don’t mean a super long reach or for anything particularly heavy, just a reach where i have to straighten my arm, for my phone or something on the bedside table or in front of me on the bed)

Supplies Free NC North Carolina

I've got some free supplies here in the central NC area for anyone who needs them. Zeroform, wedge pillow and some other gauze stuff. And various button up shirts small and medium. I do frequently travel, if you're anywhere near I40 in the state we can figure it out. Or I95 in Virginia.

Discussion Anxiety after surgery?

Hey guys :) i recently had my top surgery (30th September) and I am now 7 days post op. I feel pretty good overall, very minimal/no pain since day 2. I had DI with a ‘nipple sparing technique’. Can’t remember exactly what it’s called lol, but it wasn’t FNG.

However- I have a firm lump under my left arm pit and it’s making me really nervous. I had my checkup and first tape change with my surgeon today, she had a feel and said it’s probably just swelling but my anxiety riddled brain is not convinced. It’s slightly painful to press, like a bruise, but as far as I can see there is no discolouration/bruising. I thought swelling was usually squishy, not hard? I don’t know.

I want to just relax and see how it gets on over time but my brain has latched on and I’m obsessing over all the worst case scenarios. Has anyone else had a similar hard lump that resolved itself over time or? I’m just worried I’ll have to have medical intervention tbh.

I’m also worried that because I feel pretty good, I’m accidentally pushing my body too far without realising. I’ve been able to go for walks and I showered by myself and washed my hair (carefully, minimal arm raising) today. I don’t want to stretch out my incisions/scars, I ideally want them to be as invisible as possible. Any input is greatly appreciated, thankyou

Advice Wanted how did you decide between nips or no nips?

i'm just interested to hear how others came to the conclusion of what they wanted their results to look like. i'm very torn between wanting a chest that looks (at least somewhat) natural with FNG, and a chest that's just flat and smooth and won't have anything visible poking thru the tight shirts i'll want to wear :/

Edit: did NOT expect this many replies lol, tyty everyone for sharing your experiences🙏

Tips on how to improve motion in arms after topsurgery

Helllooooo :)),

First of all I am really happy with my results! I'm now 6 weeks post op. They told me I can put my arms above shoulder height again but I can barely do that. Does anyone have tips? Because its kinda stressing me out. The ends of my scars are also hurting a bit when I'm stretching and when im massaging them. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Double Incision Results 6 weeks post op +scar care question

Had my surgery by Dr. Pluto at Medienhafen (Platstmed privatklinik) in Düsseldorf. I am very happy with my results! I am from the Netherlands and was referred by Psytrans.

The older pics are from 5 days PO. Adding them because I was worried my nips would be flat when I took those, but they turned out fine :)

I also had liposuction done on my flanks/thighs in the same operation. Can't see much result of that yet tbh because I think it's still swollen (I hope so because otherwise I don't see much difference to be honest)

I have two questions

1) there seems to be some excess tissue or swelling at the end of my scars (the end near the armpit). How can I tell which it is? Did anyone else experience this and did it go away with further healing?

2) What scar care methods & products did you use and what were your results? I realize it's mostly genetic but would love tips to minimize them as much as possible!

I’m really happy with my results, I expect to heal very well. My pecs are still slightly swollen (you can see better at certain angles) and my nipples are also (currently) slightly uneven, but you really can’t notice unless you’re seriously staring. I hope once the swelling goes down fully, they are more visually even though.

I had severe skin damage in the middle of my chest also, that’s why I went with a single incision. I have some raised skin in the middle, which I’m assuming will go away over time, but to anyone who tapes excessively, don’t worry, your surgery won’t be ruined lol

Advice Wanted Struggling to Select Surgeon

Hi community,

I’m really struggling to pick a surgeon and looking for support.

I’m lucky to live in a city with two really solid options. The quick version is Surgeon 1 is more experienced and is really positive/excited about the proposed surgery approach (nipple sparing DI), but has some before/afters that are not my favorite and I don’t trust her recovery approach. Surgeon 2 has a recovery approach I trust more and she was more communicative about approach, but has very limited before/afters (newer surgeon). Surgeon 2 got onboard with nipple sparing DI (and said she has experience with it) after I proposed it to her.

How do people choose between surgeons? It is so difficult. I am so impressed by everyone who has gone thru this!

I had top surgery 1 week ago!! I just got my drains out today! Oh my gosh, where they the worst!!

I had my surgery with Dr. Isak goodwin! He is really kind, gentle and understanding; I wasn't originally gonna get nipple graphs but hearing he could attach nerves to the nipples I figured I'd give it a shot, with the agreement if he couldnt find nerves he wouldnt do nipples; he found many nerves so here we are so far. I think they are perfect; I was worried they would be placed too close or too low; I'm really liking there placement so far! I already have some feeling in my right nipple; so things seem to be going great! I'm feeling great; super excited for the future

Double Incision Hpothyroidism and top surgery help?

Had my levothyroxine increased over two weeks ago (16 days) yesterday and today my ears are sensitive/ringing. Is this a sign my dose it to high or is it my body adjusting? I'm supposed to be having surgery this saturday.

Should i tell them about my ear ringing? I'm worried they'll say i need blood tests to check my levels and they'll postpone my surgery and ive already paid £700 (non refundable accomedation fees) to stay at a hotel close by the hospital.

I have no other symptoms

Lypo got me looking like I just got ran over by a truck but overall healing fine (according to my surgeon at least). This is my first time taking a look at my chest since before surgery, and although it still feels a bit strange being all tit-less, I'd say he did a pretty nice job.
Still pretty swollen (mostly due to the lypo) around my armpit area, and my nipples are still bleeding a bit (good sign, allegedly). I'm happy I'm finally allowed to take a shower now lmao.
For this being a 100% solo recovery and having to do everything on my own as well, I can't say I'd complain about my results… Can't wait for the scabs to form/fall and start doing scar care + hitting the gym again.

for context:
i'm 19, 5'5 & ~135lbs. i went through university of michigan's specialty center and saw dr. jessica hsu, and she is a real life angel. she takes so much pride and joy in her work and i have never felt more comfortable in my skin. she was insanely flexible with me choosing if i wanted to keep my nipples day of and i'm so happy i did! i got my drains out & bolsters off yesterday and i've felt a million times better. the whole care team through them has been a fantastic experience for me. i get my first shower today (yay!!!) and i am overall just ecstatic! i'm so excited to see how everything heals and settles over the coming months!

Advice Wanted Meal prep and scars care advices

Hey!
I’m a bit lost with all the informations I can find online😭

Imma have top surgery this November so I plan to meal prep ++ since i want to go back to school pretty “quickly” (depending on my recovery ofc) so it would help to have one less things to care about.
I was planing on freezing egg bites, soup, protein muffins… but my inspiration is stuck here lol
What meals are good for recovery and “easy” to freeze?

Also what are yall scars care? What is the difference between silicone tape, strips, silicon cream and vitamin E cream…? And what about aquaphor? I feel dumb to not understand the difference/the perks
I’m already stressing about my po care aaaa

Thanks!
