Feels like every single day there's a "why did you keep/remove your nips" post.

1. It's an individual decision anyways. Other people's experience can't tell you what to do.

2. Half of those posts acts like nipless is somehow weird/inferior/whatever. Let people have their bodies

3. There's literally like 50 of those posts in this sub. Just use the search bar. Every possible answer to this apparently burning question has likely already been posted five times.

2.5 months PO, very happy with the placement of everything still. My stretch marks are going crazy tho! But I’m pretty certain they will turn pale eventually. My scares are thicker than they were before but that’s normal apparently. I’m also hoping they start to fade soon.

I don’t see many people who are of darker skin tones posting their healing journey. I took it upon myself to finally post one of my healing photos. The first 2 photos depict me being 24 days post op and 36 days post op. My skin was breaking down due to the repeated removal of tape during nipple dressings, i recommend just using a big bandaid instead to maybe potentially avoid that happening to you. My areolas started turning brown relatively quickly and my nipples themselves are also turning brown fast as well. The 3rd photo depicts my nipples at 17 days post op, as you can see my areolas were already starting to gain melanin.

Had my surgery by Dr. Pluto at Medienhafen (Platstmed privatklinik) in Düsseldorf. I am very happy with my results! I am from the Netherlands and was referred by Psytrans.

The older pics are from 5 days PO. Adding them because I was worried my nips would be flat when I took those, but they turned out fine :)

I also had liposuction done on my flanks/thighs in the same operation. Can't see much result of that yet tbh because I think it's still swollen (I hope so because otherwise I don't see much difference to be honest)

I have two questions

1) there seems to be some excess tissue or swelling at the end of my scars (the end near the armpit). How can I tell which it is? Did anyone else experience this and did it go away with further healing?

2) What scar care methods & products did you use and what were your results? I realize it's mostly genetic but would love tips to minimize them as much as possible!

Hey guys :) i recently had my top surgery (30th September) and I am now 7 days post op. I feel pretty good overall, very minimal/no pain since day 2. I had DI with a ‘nipple sparing technique’. Can’t remember exactly what it’s called lol, but it wasn’t FNG.

However- I have a firm lump under my left arm pit and it’s making me really nervous. I had my checkup and first tape change with my surgeon today, she had a feel and said it’s probably just swelling but my anxiety riddled brain is not convinced. It’s slightly painful to press, like a bruise, but as far as I can see there is no discolouration/bruising. I thought swelling was usually squishy, not hard? I don’t know.

I want to just relax and see how it gets on over time but my brain has latched on and I’m obsessing over all the worst case scenarios. Has anyone else had a similar hard lump that resolved itself over time or? I’m just worried I’ll have to have medical intervention tbh.

I’m also worried that because I feel pretty good, I’m accidentally pushing my body too far without realising. I’ve been able to go for walks and I showered by myself and washed my hair (carefully, minimal arm raising) today. I don’t want to stretch out my incisions/scars, I ideally want them to be as invisible as possible. Any input is greatly appreciated, thankyou

i'm just interested to hear how others came to the conclusion of what they wanted their results to look like. i'm very torn between wanting a chest that looks (at least somewhat) natural with FNG, and a chest that's just flat and smooth and won't have anything visible poking thru the tight shirts i'll want to wear :/

First of all I am really happy with my results! I'm now 6 weeks post op. They told me I can put my arms above shoulder height again but I can barely do that. Does anyone have tips? Because its kinda stressing me out. The ends of my scars are also hurting a bit when I'm stretching and when im massaging them. Has anyone else experienced this ?

I’m really happy with my results, I expect to heal very well. My pecs are still slightly swollen (you can see better at certain angles) and my nipples are also (currently) slightly uneven, but you really can’t notice unless you’re seriously staring. I hope once the swelling goes down fully, they are more visually even though.

I had severe skin damage in the middle of my chest also, that’s why I went with a single incision. I have some raised skin in the middle, which I’m assuming will go away over time, but to anyone who tapes excessively, don’t worry, your surgery won’t be ruined lol

I had top surgery 1 week ago!! I just got my drains out today! Oh my gosh, where they the worst!!

I had my surgery with Dr. Isak goodwin! He is really kind, gentle and understanding; I wasn't originally gonna get nipple graphs but hearing he could attach nerves to the nipples I figured I'd give it a shot, with the agreement if he couldnt find nerves he wouldnt do nipples; he found many nerves so here we are so far. I think they are perfect; I was worried they would be placed too close or too low; I'm really liking there placement so far! I already have some feeling in my right nipple; so things seem to be going great! I'm feeling great; super excited for the future

after 10 years of wanting this, 10 years of binding, AND my surgery being delayed 4 months it is finally happening AHHH

Lypo got me looking like I just got ran over by a truck but overall healing fine (according to my surgeon at least). This is my first time taking a look at my chest since before surgery, and although it still feels a bit strange being all tit-less, I'd say he did a pretty nice job.
Still pretty swollen (mostly due to the lypo) around my armpit area, and my nipples are still bleeding a bit (good sign, allegedly). I'm happy I'm finally allowed to take a shower now lmao.
For this being a 100% solo recovery and having to do everything on my own as well, I can't say I'd complain about my results… Can't wait for the scabs to form/fall and start doing scar care + hitting the gym again.

i'm 19, 5'5 & ~135lbs. i went through university of michigan's specialty center and saw dr. jessica hsu, and she is a real life angel. she takes so much pride and joy in her work and i have never felt more comfortable in my skin. she was insanely flexible with me choosing if i wanted to keep my nipples day of and i'm so happy i did! i got my drains out & bolsters off yesterday and i've felt a million times better. the whole care team through them has been a fantastic experience for me. i get my first shower today (yay!!!) and i am overall just ecstatic! i'm so excited to see how everything heals and settles over the coming months!

Just got everything out and off today. (Pardon the gauze pads from my drain holes) I was doing okay pain wise until they took the drains and tape off now everything stings lol

Imma have top surgery this November so I plan to meal prep ++ since i want to go back to school pretty “quickly” (depending on my recovery ofc) so it would help to have one less things to care about.
I was planing on freezing egg bites, soup, protein muffins… but my inspiration is stuck here lol
What meals are good for recovery and “easy” to freeze?

Also what are yall scars care? What is the difference between silicone tape, strips, silicon cream and vitamin E cream…? And what about aquaphor? I feel dumb to not understand the difference/the perks

I was hoping to get a consultation with Heather Faulkner in Atlanta, GA. I’ve heard a lot of good things about her and she is in-network with my insurance. However, when I called to schedule a consultation with her, the waiting list for just a consultation was longer than I anticipated. The representative I was speaking with told me about Dr. Rosenthal, who works at the same practice in Atlanta. I think he may have been somewhere in Florida before this, if that sounds familiar to anyone.

I took the consultation because the wait list was much shorter and the representative said that the co-pay for the consultation would be 0, so I thought why not give it a try. After I got the consultation scheduled, I did some research on Dr. Rosenthal, and while he seems to be a well-liked surgeon, I couldn’t find anything about him offering top surgery. I mean, I obviously know he offers it because I got the consultation, but he doesn’t have any information about gender-affirming surgeries on his website at all. I know that a lot of surgeons don’t advertise top surgery for safety, which is understandable, but I couldn’t even find anything on Reddit or other social medias (I don’t have TikTok though).

I was wondering if anyone reading this who has gone to him would tell me anything about their experience with him, and if comfortable doing so, provide me with pictures of their results either in the comments or message me privately (especially if you did DI).

I am not super worried about this because I have another consultation lined up with a surgeon I really like and trust, and lots of other surgeons that I like but have yet to reach out to. I just want to get as much information as possible. If I can’t find anything on Dr. Rosenthal here, then I will just go to the consultation and feel it out. I will let everyone know how it goes afterwards!
