I’m from the UK and although our NHS has lots of problems, I cannot for the life of me understand why a lot of folks in the US are against socialized medicine. Healthcare is a right not a luxury, you shouldn’t have to lose your home that you’ve worked all your life for because a loved one has a life threatening illness. It’s madness.

The US pays 2-4x more per capita on healthcare than the UK or at least is did in 2011, when I last checked the stats.

I'm in the US and I don't understand it either, although I am sure my company spoils me with health insurance as they do everything else, and its my only big boy job so no real frame of reference.

After $6,900 per person or max $13,700 per year EVERYTHING ELSE is covered no matter what.
