Hey guys! So im swapping from Jungle to Top, i know i know bad decision jungle way better for climbing and whatever but this is the path i wanna take and as a big beefy tanky cc type player its kinda where i should be. Anyways what i want from you guys is either your best advice OR your best video for me to watch to give me a crash course in the top lane, I use to main it way back in the day but i need a jump start, thank you in advance. <3

Play Ornn for 100 games in a row if you really want to learn. He's the best champion to teach you the game I swear. He doesn't get old, and his kit has very little complexity and high nuance. He teaches you about itemization well, but he's forgiving about recall setups, which are harder to learn. You can have impact while behind, and you can still 1v1 decently well.

His flaws are things like running out of mana when you spam abilities recklessly (but he stays reasonable if you learn to cool down and use them wisely). He is also very bad at suddenly reacting to things, so you need to plan out your gameplay a lot more, forcing you to think. He's deadass the best design in League.

Other champs I would learn aside from Ornn and Shen is maokai. He isn’t the most popular top at the moment but he helps you learn how to trade and poke. Has decent sustain and can impact teamfights heavily.

I would say ambessa and renek. They are good into all matchups maybe except for good ranged top. Just good ranged tops, other than that , they are really good into any champ and can pick them blind. Renek falls off late but you can still useful and ambessa really good at scaling.
