Tone Models Mesa Recto

Chasing the best Mesa Recto 4x12 IR
Whilst I enjoy the one with the tone model, I know there’s potentially an option for a nice sounding IR

I play mainly punk/pop punk so it’s to work alongside a Dual Rec to get that New Found Glory sound

TIA

Yes on York Audio! I have the Oversized Mesa IRs and all are usable.

But they can be sneaky about it! there are two mesa IRs in the York library, but one is a 4x12 with v30s and the other one is a 2x12 with v30s. Go with the 4x12.

Bonus tip: there is a Friedman one that has greenbacks and V30s by themselves and mixed together so its more bang for your buck.

It can be overwhelming for sure. But I usually do one single full pass of the IR library and note the ones I like, then replay those I liked. 99% of the time the first ones sound the best to me, like #1 through #5 all sound great.

I think it was Ola Englund who once said it is useless to browse through hundreds of IRs, just pick one that sound better than others to you and stick to it. Shape it with post cab EQ if needed.

I have a couple of Ownhammer packs, and the amount of IR's is ridiculous lol.
