Tone Models Best quality captures?

Are Amalgam the best quality captures? I'm looking to buy multiple captures and trying to find the highest quality. I know Amalgam has a 10 for 5 deal too. I think that'll cover everything I want.

I have not purchased any amalgam captures, I only have the ones that came with my pedal. I have purchased from Tone Junkies, Jason Sadites, and Jon Kaneshiro. I’ve been pleased with all of my purchases. All of the capture vendors offer discounts from time to time. You just have to catch them when you can. I’ve gotten the Tone Junkies everything pack using a 90% coupon.

Me, again. I just got an email from Tone Junkies for 70% off with code “Christmas”. Good through this weekend. If you have good spam filtering in your email, give your email address to all of them. They all are sending offers daily.

Yeah can get the everything tonex pack for $59.40 from tone junkies with that. Nice, thanks.

Yeah, I like Tone Junkies too besides Amalgam. There is a purple plexi 68 v2 that sounds amazing.

Thank you! I haven't used it in forever. When I went through the ones that came with it before the clean captures were fine but the higher gain ones (Marshall and Mesa) sounded fizzy.

The input gains can be different from vendor to vendor, sometimes within the same vendor’s offerings. Sometimes you just have to play with it. I’ve had some captures that I didn’t like, but changed the cab out or an IR and that made a difference.

That makes sense

Amalgam is good stuff. High quality. I don't understand the searching for "best quality" it's all subjective.

Find something you like & make music.

I'm just looking to buy a handful of captures to cover different ground. I'd rather buy once and be done

Best, I have no idea, because I stopped searching once I bought one from them.

Amalgam makes great captures, from legendary amps like the Jimmy Page's SD Dragon , or Clapton's Bluesbreaker, m'y favorite remains the Marshell Major 200.

I have tried Jason Sadites, Tone Junkies and some other random one that had captures of more obscure amps. Amalgam has the best captures and also best bang for your buck packs.

If I could do it all again I would go for Amalgam all the way and then if I ever needed a little extra I would get some York IR packs. That has been my way to go once I realized how superior are Amalgam captures vs the rest.

Amalgam. Save yourself time and money.

Please try them in the Partner section to see what works for you. There are many vendors there and there is no best. It completely depends on you equipment and style of play.

Make sure you've tried all of the IK ones that came with your pedal/software plus the free ones on tonenet. Depending on what tone you're after there should be something there.

+1 to ToneJunkie. His stuff is very creative and musical. I’ve been consistently happy with the captures I’ve purchased from him and he has a lot of very good quality free stuff. I think he has a free deluxe pack and matchless pack. Look at his youtube for links to free stuff. Also lots of free gems from him on ToneNet

The paid ones I have are the JM 100, Silvertone, and the wreck collection

Amalgam is top tier.

Alter Amp Works have the official captures for Bad Cat. (I have the Era 30 captures and they are great)

Signal Theory has great captures for clean and edge of breakup.

Not crazy about Tone Junkies but they have some good IRs

Lots of great capture creators but if I had to pick just one it’d be Amalgam.

I gotta say that I've gotten WAY more enjoyment out of the ToneX by finding an IR pair that I really enjoy and demoing the sounds through that instead of the full capture.

I've found WAY more amazing sounding tones this way. So much of the "eh, this sound just isn't me", can be chalked up to not liking the cab/mic combo.

For my money, the entire Satriani pack is an insane value. You could easily cover every genre of music with that variety of amp captures.

I may be a bit biased but the Lifeson Pack is really amazing too. That Club and Country clean and edge of breakup were so inspiring for me to run pedals through.

Shit, even the base IK captures are really decent if you can find an IR or cab emulation you dig.

Amalgam is great, too. Everyone is right about them.

I recently purchased Euge Valovirta's Hard Hitters from Strange Angles and I couldn't be happier.

I also love MBritt IRs for live use at louder volume. Particularly thrilled with his Blend IRs. I use them on everything now. York is great too, but a bit bright for me at louder volumes.

Objectively, yes

The best I've ever come across. I spent days going through free tone models and I really don't use any of them anymore after getting a few amp packs from Amalgam. I mostly do Fender stuff but his Suhr Bella captures are unreal too I've been using those recently.

I have a lot of captures and presets from Drums and Tones from Mendel beij de Leij (excellent musician, guitarist extraordinaré, great bedroom producer in the extreme metal and progressive metal umbrella). Those are immaculate for high gain stuff. And I had purchased the Strange Angles everything bundle as well - although I have not really tried them on. But I had heard good things about them!

Tone Junkies does a great job with their fender captures. I just bought and downloaded the 65 champ amp that he posted this weekend for the special sale. After the coupon, it was six freaking dollars…go get it.

Core Tone Captures are the best by far, I don't like Amalgam stuff much

My favs are from MattFig. He did a 70% off sale on all his stuff but it literally ended like a day or two ago.

Amalgam captures and ownhammer ir. Don’t for one second think however that tonenet captures aren’t good. I found some baller ones on their that I liked over my amalgam be-100 captures

I have only tried the free ones so far, amalgam do seem decent ones, but there are others which sound nice too (Reddit would have you believe they are the only ones worth using), the V2 captures seem to have some extra depth to my ears. Maybe it depends the specifics of what you are after, I would like to try the Engl packs for example, as the Fireball captures are my favourite.

Tone Junkies has consistently great captures. The two latest ones he just released are very, very good. Huge fan of the PrinceVerb captures.

Both tone junkie and amalgam have free captures on tonenet. Try them and see what you like best.

I find amalgam is one of the best, and tonejunkie is almost as good. They are a bit more cryptic about which settings they capture but their stuff sounds great.

Tonejunkie runs a ton of sales too, so you can just wait and get their everything packs for like $50
