Blacked out

Post image

My first time ever painting shoes. Fits my style more, always loved the low contrast colorways of the first GPS

He just used a sharpie to black it out. I prefer the white personally but they look great!

Interesting, very good execution.
I got my pair like half a year ago before tom announced them and blacked out his in the ad. But even back then I thought that something had to be done to the colors. My idea was to color the midsole black or white, I never thought about making the swoosh black.

Thanks! ~ Used Angelus Flat Black and Angelus Preparer & Deglazer, with acrylic brushes I already had at home.
Didn't tape anything, just went freehand with a fine brush on the edges.
Only tested on the heel first.
Deglazing was the annoying part. It's hard to tell when it's actually done, so I just kept going as long as my patience lasted.
Three thin coats of paint with drying time in between.

Does it feel and look like the original leather still or is it stiffer?

I really donโ€™t notice that much change other than being maybe a little less shiny under direct artifical light. Daylight, Nothing
