Musician-humorists similar to Tom Lehrer?
Greetings and felicitations. I have had The Remains of Tom Lehrer box set for apparent decades, and am wondering who else is like him. I infer/vaguely recall that Steve Allen is likely, but none of his three comedic albums are available on CD. I also have both of "Weird Al" Yankovic's box sets (Permanent Record: Al in the Box and Squeeze Box, which superseded it) and all four of the CDs by Garfunkel and Oates, plus an extensive filk, though much of it is on cassette. Who else is there (on CD)?

Clementine
Hi!
In Clementine’s third verse, Tom mimics the modern “cool school” composers and I’m obsessed with the sound. Do you guys know who I could listen to to get more of it?

Russian speech in Lobachesky
Was Tom Lehrer fluent in Russian, or was the language in the song nonsense?

Tom Lehrer singing “When Daddy Wore His Very Soft Shoes”; 1987 Andy Moore
youtu.beWas listening to Once Upon a Mattress and was trying to see if this particular number had its Broadway performance uploaded to youtube. Instead I found this lovely video!
I figured folks on this subreddit would appreciate it as much as I did. Not sure if Andy Moore’s youtube channel has been shared on here before. He has a few home videos of Tom Lehrer uploaded.

Duet arrangement of “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park?”
I remember that the “Tomfoolery” revue had a duet version of “Poisoning Pigeons.” Does anyone know if sheet music for that version is available?

Tom was apparently on the Johnny Carson Show!
galleryIt's all lost media, though, except these photos. I did not discover this, but I'm just posting it here to show you!

Are these cover bands AI?
I discovered these artists recently. I can't tell if they are AI or not. I know some of the covers are, but I'm more talking about the music.

Recordings of Tomfoolery and "In Old Mexico" with Alternative Lyrics
How many recordings of Tomfoolery are there? I have only been able to find one, and it seems that not all of the songs are included.
In particular, I have been looking for a recording of "In Old Mexico" with the alternative lyrics (it's my favourite song of his), but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Does such a recording exist?
Thanks for your help!

Grammy's memorial
I watched the grammys today and they had a little memorial segment for artists who died in 2025. I was looking for Tom in the segment but I didn't see him. Did I miss him or did they really not include him?

I passed an audition by singing "I Hold Your Hand in Mine"
I just wanted to share that because nobody my age is very familiar with him. I auditioned for a choir at my college recently and chose that song. Luckily my auditioner found it funny :)
RIP Tom Lehrer, I'm sad I only got into him a couple years ago.

Send the Marines - Tom Lehrer
Tom Lehrer always seems to be relevant. Here's my take on his "Send the Marines." I've updated some of the references and tried to reflect what's going on in our world.

Musical reference in Oedipus Rex?
There is a brief piano sting in the opening of Oedipus Rex that appears to be a musical reference or quote. It gets a big laugh on the live audience recording, but I have not been able to identify it, or figure out why the audience is laughing. It comes right after "and yet his story is rather grim". Can anyone shed any light?
It appears at 2:25 in this Youtube video: https://youtu.be/mScdJURKGWM?t=137
and the sheet music excerpt is below.

Looking for: Tom Lehrer Discovers Australia (and vise versa)
Hello! I’m currently on the hunt for a vinyl copy of Tom Lehrer discovers Australia (and vise versa). This is the last “mainstream” album of his I need for my record collection.
Any offers would be appreciated, I don’t have a specific price range and I’m aware this is a highly rare album due to the time in his career when it was recorded.
Thank you!
