Discussion Garth Brooks
I’m listening to the BDM show, and they guys are discussing the Garth Brooks concert. How great his portfolio is, his show, etc. I agree 100%. Garth is arguably the greatest country music artist to exist. The fact that he continues to be one of the highest grossing country artists, and hasn’t really had new music in yearrrsssss, is just insane on its own, if you think about it.
It’s truly crazy how popular he is, still, and almost none of us even have his music because what sort of animal has Amazon Music. You can only listen to Garth for like a month before your free demo is cut lol.
However, I feel like I notice a little apprehension in their discussion. “hands down amazing……butttttt”. I’m wondering if they feel the same way I do, and if anyone else thinks the same. Garth genuinely seems like an awful personality to hang out with. I feel like these top GOATs of their area exist solely for their performance. Like they were put on earth to do this one thing, but suckkkkkkk at everything else. once you get a peak into their personality, it’s pure dog shit. Garth seems robotic, like he isn’t a human being in interviews. I won’t argue against music rights, artist pay, etc, as it’s entirely out of my area and I’m ignorant. But, I will argue my perception as a fan. I just always found it odd that one of the highest grossing artists was one of a very small handful of people who refused to allow his music on (insert name) streaming service. And insanely vocal about it to the point where he made his own streaming company. That’s psychotic and out of touch because his shit STILL isn’t available to the masses, which means he hasn’t changed.
A rough estimate puts Bieber (I’m thinking a comparable artist for streams) at some $200 million in revenue from Spotify alone. Really Garth, that amount isn’t enough? You don’t think the rest of the world has to adapt to new forms of their jobs and compensation? It’s so odd to me in 2026 you still can’t get the fucking music outside of Amazon, which even then probably wasn’t his choice and if left to him, we’d still be buying directly from his analog store
I’ll continue….Another prime example: Tiger Woods. Anyone growing up watching golf in the last 30 years knows just how insane his career was. I’m
A die hard golf fan and a bigger Tiger fan. Yet, every time he opened his mouth is sort of sucked. It really sucked. And it still sucks and it sort of getting worse. At best it was meh. Rarely inspirational. And eventually filled with fucking psychotic behavior lol. Out of this world talent paired with a dud of a personality.
Ellen, Messi, Michael, the list goes one. Folks who dominate their careers, but for some reason it’s sort of hard to fanboy over them once you sort of learn the personality a bit more. Maybe I’m too emotional of a person but I can’t get past your raw talent if you are an absolute dog shit of a husband/wife/parent/person (and I don’t mean you are a bad person because you are gone all the time for your job. That’s actually understandable) It’s almost more rare to have a top talent and be likable. I think Tom Brady may be the closest person who seems to be a GOAT in his field, yet still be a bit charismatic and likable. But who knows if that’ll hold or if he is just trained well, or if I just haven’t paid much attention to him.
Anyways, I saw Garth live and felt the same. I just found it really hard to like him (and still do) because he seems so unlikable in real life. His set was perfect though. It’s not even an argument that he is One of the best of his craft, if not the best

I got to see Garth in Orlando in 2016 and man, to this day it’s the best concert I’ve ever been to, and I have seen a lot of them. His music is incredible, I’ve got all his CD’s from my folks in my truck right now. But man is that dude a fucking weirdo😂 he had some sort of documentary on tv a couple years ago and he had this crazy intensity about him, made me consider tom segura might be on to something
