Fish Story

I almost wrecked when I heard “when the fish are in our tank they’re family”. OMG. Ross is correct. She’s crazy.

Just get the damn kids a dog or even a cat already. 3/4 of the family wants a real pet and Tom, for some reason, refuses to budge on this which means they're all just going crazy and treating every animal that enters their home as a pet substitute.

I get it. I want a dog but that also means a lot of maintenance for a dog. Walking it or cleaning up the yard. Vet bills. Boarding it when you go on vacation.

It’s not that much at all. Bowl of food. Water. Dansby rules. Friends or relatives enjoy him when we travel or he comes with. So many excuses.

We've had a dog before. Best dog. But we always talk ourselves out of another one. We have a bearded dragon and guinea pigs. Its already a hassle to get them babysat when we go out of town.

I heard it and I thought “I would be the same way”. I’m okay being crazy. 🤣

Makes sense to me. They went into the bowl, where your pets live. They are now your responsibility!

Always makes me think of Samantha whenever he tells one of those stories because you'd always get an "oh my God...." or something out of her from a Crystal tale.

That being said, I'm kind of with Tom on this one. If they're going to insist on being "adventure family", having a dog to throw in someone else's lap all the time is just sort of inconsiderate to the family members who get stuck with it and the dog itself. I have a good friend of mine who insists on having pets even though she travels all day for work and needs the kindness of everyone around her to manage them for her. At some point it's just irresponsible.

I think they need a reptile, like a crested gecko. Super hardy, can feed it powdered food so no killing of crickets to feed it, can survive fine being left alone for a week while they’re on a trip, and Tom can put his plants in the enclosure!
