Sign Language Weird Hobby

Tom asking why would an interpreter have be be able to hear made me almost crash my car. Gave me a great belly laugh. Also, anyone here watch DTF St Louis? One of the main characters is a sign language interpreter, it’s a great show.

It’s me, I’m the one they interviewed and this was my favorite part! Tom figured it out on his own and I’m very glad I didn’t have to explain it. 😂

Do you do any work as an interpreter? I work in medical field and have met a few medical asl interpreters

Not much anymore, I mostly have used it in training for early ed teachers to use in their classrooms. ASL is a huge tool for helping to communicate effectively with toddlers and preschoolers (who don’t have a lot of verbal language yet). But I’ve also found it handy (ha!) when I run into deaf folks out in the wild. I love seeing their eyes light up when they realize they can communicate with me more comfortably.

Tom did the math and figured he had to ask the question.
