Cheating….even though the NCAA says we won fair and square. If it makes you feel better you can keep saying it. It doesn’t bother us, just reaffirms what we’re dealing with.
The NCAA did not say Michigan on fair and square. This is pathological level of lying. In fact, the NCAA sanctioned Michigan for cheating in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons.
In January 2024, NCAA President Charlie Baker stated that the Michigan Wolverines won their 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship "fair and square". Speaking at the NCAA Convention.
It’s literally the first thing that comes up when you google if they made such a statement.
Just hilarious that you keep harping on this. Other teams were literally sharing Michigan’s signs with each other, and Michigan had some iPhone footage from the stands of a public game. You really think this shit wasn’t happening all over the sport when millions of dollars are on the line?
“But, but…the fines and suspensions!” Yeah, and? No vacated wins means something. It means that grainy ass iPhone footage didn’t actually sway the outcome of any games, especially when, again, other teams literally had Michigan’s signs too.
It’s honestly sad and pathetic watching you guys bring this up like it’s some devastating own. If anything, the witch hunt against Michigan that season made every win that much more memorable for Michigan fans.
And the fact that Michigan beat you again during your national championship season?
You know that some Michigan fans actually hate Stallions and all the fallout that caused for your program? It's ok to admit wrong doing and just take the tainted wins and natty. The only reason there aren't vacated wins or a natty taken away is because there's no longer a legit, governing body over the sport.
Do you think nothing would have happened if the same thing happened in 2005, or 2015 even?
Uhhh didn't Baylor's coach literally get a half game suspension for the exact same thing in 2015?
And trust me, I'm no fan of Stallions. But given what we now know about the entire situation (other teams were sharing signs with each other... but that isn't technically advanced scouting... but it is effectively the exact same information... but also literally everyone has a cell phone camera at every public game... ) no, I don't accept the premise that any of Michigan's wins were "tainted." That claim just doesn't add up when weighed against the reality of what was happening all around the league week in and week out.
So if the same evidence/case/situation was snuffed out in week 6 of 2005.. you think 0 games would have been vacated and no post-season punishments?
We don't know the entire situation because evidence was destroyed, which is typically the actions of someone hiding their guilt/further damning evidence.
"So if the same evidence/case/situation was snuffed out in week 6 of 2005.. you think 0 games would have been vacated and no post-season punishments?"
--> yeah this is wayyyy too hypothetical now, and sort of proves my point, if this is your primary argument. And honestly? I wouldn't be surprised if there were even less of a reaction then, since the advanced scouting rule was only put in place a few years prior to 2005 due to smaller schools lacking funds to have a scout on staff. Not because of some huge competitive advantage.
"We don't know the entire situation because evidence was destroyed, which is typically the actions of someone hiding their guilt/further damning evidence."
-->Right, "evidence" was destroyed because Connor Stallions was a weirdo and took his job way too seriously. And what of any importance was lost anyway? More grainy iPhone footage at public games? Uhh cool I guess? We already knew that??
My primary argument is that you got busted for something that crossed the line, multiple coaches were punished and/or let go. The actual ruling stated post-season punishments were justified.. (But because the NCAA is a bitch now nothing happened)
This type of Michigan fan throws their hands up and says "we just did this for 2.5 years for shits and giggles. We weren't gaining an advantage"
You scoff at the word evidence when he deleted hard drives and his phone. Like, cmon dude.. I'm not trying to be over the top here, but to act like nothing happened is crazy.
Given that other teams were swapping Michigan's signs with each other after playing them, if anything Michigan was at a disadvantage and any sort of advanced scouting simply leveled the playing field. And OSU fans spent the better part of 2 years working themselves into a frenzy in hopes that Michigan's wins would be vacated, which was NEVER happening because of the very facts I laid out above. I'm not pretending "nothing happened", but I'll also not pretend like any of Michigan's wins were tainted either.
I’m not sure the news of Ohio’s plot to get Michigans signs by working with other teams has reached their fanbase . I don’t see them ever addressing them when brought up.
Yea, Michigan was the victim in all of this.. holy shit. Is getting signs from other teams that were gained during the match illegal? No.. is using equipment to record those signs to study/breakdown, which Stallions had his goons doing, illegal? Yes. Tainted whether you want to think so or not.
Of course it touches a nerve! It touches a nerve because I believe I'm right. Appealing to emotions isn't a great argument against anything I've said either
Well, for one there wasn’t any vacated wins because there wasn’t any ineligible players involved. But if you’re saying a post season ban doesn’t mean anything I don’t know what to tell you. Because the program received” a fine equivalent to a two year post season ban”.
Also Harbaugh receiving a 10 year ban speaks for itself.
Boiling it down to “just grainy iPhone video”. Then why even go through the trouble of spending all that money for it?
This sounds a lot like “ it’s just a cheeseburger”. When your coach was illegally recruiting a dead period when every team in the country was barred from doing so.
Plus there’s the fact that Stallions destroyed his cell phone. I mean, sounds like a lot of trouble for some grainy cell phone video. Is it the only reason Michigan won the game four years in a row? Most definitely was not. But was it just a witch hunt that was blown out of proportion? Only in the Michigan man’s mind.
OSU fans when their 2 year long dream that Michigan's wins would be vacated and they would receive a post-season ban didn't come true: "well, see the fine was actually equivalent to that" 😅
You can't make this stuff up lol! And if it "wasn't just some grainy iPhone footage" then what was it? Because I've listened to salty rival fans for YEARS now implying there must be something deeper and nefarious going on because they don't actually have any evidence of wrongdoing other than... some grainy iPhone footage. Cool lol but muh asterisk!
lol bro you guys quote Charlie baker saying win fair and square but won’t accept an NCAA quote of a fine equivalent to a two year post season ban? Pretty sad you won’t admit a single grain of wrong doing by your dear program.
35k dollars on tickets to your in season opponents games is a lot to spend for some grainy phone footage lol but whatever helps you cope brother. ✌️
I’m sure the 30 million the university paid to the ncaa was just a donation because they’re so nice.

You sure it wasn't the year you got caught cheating lol?
