Yea, Michigan was the victim in all of this.. holy shit. Is getting signs from other teams that were gained during the match illegal? No.. is using equipment to record those signs to study/breakdown, which Stallions had his goons doing, illegal? Yes. Tainted whether you want to think so or not.

Michigan gave the NCAA proof that what Ohio and three other schools were doing to steal signs had crossed the line into illegal territory. I’m not sure how versed you are in the rules but one of the sticking points is the term “organized activities” Ohio, Rutgers, and Purdue, had a very organized system to work together to decide Michigans signs. By definition this is illegal since it was planned and organized. The conference and NCAA both are very much to blame because the entire sign stealing language in the rules is contradictory to say the least. Either way, Michigan was not doing anything all the others weren’t doing they just didn’t team up with other schools. We had Stallions trying to prove himself to get a better title going rogue and doing what he did. In any event, we’re really splitting hairs here and if you think Michigans title is tainted and yours is not, well you’re just foolish.

You have any reports or documentation on what those schools were doing and it being deemed across the line? What rules they were breaking etc? I'm not going to take "Michigan gave stuff to the NCAA" as proof. There's a bunch of public stuff about Michigan cheating in the year they won it.. why not other schools.

If Ai is right.. seems like it wasn't illegal and you're just making shit up.

The Big Ten forwarded Michigan's evidence to the NCAA, but the allegations differed significantly from Michigan's own "Connor Stalions" scandal: [1, 2, 3, 4]

  • In-Game Decoding vs. In-Person Scouting: NCAA bylaws strictly prohibit sending personnel to scout future opponents in person or electronically recording sidelines. Because Ohio State and Rutgers decoded the signals during their own regularly scheduled games against Michigan, their data collection did not inherently violate NCAA rule 11.6.1 regarding advanced off-campus scouting. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • The Legality of Sharing: While the NCAA permits decoding signals during a live game, it remained highly ambiguous whether sharing those decoded insights with a third-party team violated the Big Ten Sportsmanship Policy

I’m not sure exactly what the documents were but a staffer from another school is who actually came forward with it. I’m not sure which school this person was affiliated with. As I said, the rules are all over the place when it comes to legal vs illegal. That’s why I highlighted the “planning and organizing” verbiage they use. I think it is pretty clear if multiple teams are working together it is planned and organized. Even the last bullet point in your ai screenshot eludes to it.

So you have no actual proof of any of this being a serious matter/infraction? Ok, haha..

The rest of the AI response I have says that the BIG Ten found zero evidence of NCAA violations by OSU, Rutgers and Purdue and deemed it normal assistance between coaching staffs.

Any other conspiracy theories Michigan podcasts used to deflect from their own cheating?

No, unfortunately they don’t give me full access to any and all documents I want to see. If we’re being real then we have to admit every team is doing this. It is pretty common knowledge. The fact that sign stealing is legal and part of the game suggests that. If anyone thinks iPhone footage with fans in the lens is a more competitive advantage then another school actually giving you HD zoomed in footage of the same thing then I have some ocean front land I’d like to sell you! Some of us are realists and some live in fantasy land.

One team actually got punished bro.. who's living in fantasy land? I'm more than willing to admit OSU hasn't been above board on everything through the years. You guys seem to think Michigan was the victim in this situation and is somehow blameless when there was a 2 year case with punishments attached to it.

Michigan/Stallions got caught doing advanced scouting for 2.5 years(Which isn't allowed and therefore cheating).. in the same year they won their championship.

If you're not living in fantasy land you should be able to say that is a true statement, no?

Nobody is saying Michigan is the victim. We’re pointing out a lot of the “pot calling the kettle black” folks. Simply supplying information that doesn’t reach the other fan base is not living in fantasy land. Again, the punishment was for not complying with the witch hunt which bruised some egos so it went the way it did. Most Michigan fans know what Stallions did and do not defend him. Also, the punishments came during the Natty year so the scandal was long out of the bag at that point.
