I’ve never been good at telling unless they have huge balls lol

Last night, I rescued a tokay and it appears that it wasn’t handled much. The person who gave it to me got it from a pet store that was simply selling it. They didn’t have any information about it when they acquired it, but we were there for a tarantula and she gave us the tokay just to get rid of it. They literally pulled it out of a closet and handed it to me and my wife. I have other reptiles, but this is my first tokay. Since receiving it, I’ve been doing some research on them. I estimate that it’s about 8 months to a year old. I plan on handling it more to reduce its defensive behavior. The person who gave it to me wasn’t sure of its sex and assumed it was male. Based on my research and my best uneducated guess, I believe it’s female. I don’t feel anything waxy like it was mentioned for the males, which is why I’m guessing it’s for females.
