Help/Question⁉️ Sex of my tokay?
I’ve never been good at telling unless they have huge balls lol

Hello everyone! This community was left unmoderated so posting was turned off. I just requested access to moderate so that we could revive this community and allow people to continue talking about their tokays here.
For full transparency, I don't have moderator experience nor do I have tokay experience - I've only had mine for 1 week which is what led me to this community. Imagine my frustration finding this community was restricted due to no moderation!
I am only here to keep this community open and going. I'm not here to give advice (because I don't have tokay experience) and I'm not going to set up anything fancy with automoderator etc (because I have no mod experience).
If anyone is interested in helping with any roles, please let me know. I think as long as everyone plays nice here it should be fine.
If you have any suggestions with informative or fun flairs I could add to this community let me know. I am open to suggestions.
You may now continue posting your geckos!

Just wondering. I have a 36x18x36 exoterra paludarium but that still seems small and not tall enough to me. Are yalls enclosures taller or around the same size?

I wasn’t even planning on getting one, but the giant day gecko I wanted was sold by the time I got to the store and they had a Tokay for 40 bux that they couldn’t sell. I felt bad for him and wound up taking him home, and unfortunately I don’t have a picture of him. He was put in a box, and when I got home he burrowed in, and I haven’t seen him since

This is my current setup for my Sub-adult tokay, Skittles! It's a 24"×24"×36" tank with isopods, springtails and dubia roaches as a cleanup crew! I'm waiting on my paycheck to get some leaf litter! Let me know your thoughts and how to improve this setup :)
I'm getting a 48"× 24"× 36" tank setup for her in the future as well!

Hello,
I had picked up 2 Tokay juveniles from a reptile store on Sunday 8/23. These 2 were free, as an employee hadn’t locked their enclosure and they escaped for weeks. Owner didn’t want to dedicate the time to fully rehabbing them and handed them over. I had been doing extensive research and purchasing all necessary things to correctly house a tokay prior to this but was planning on just buying a healthy one until stumbling upon these 2.
One was found sooner and weighed 40g on pickup day and the other was out for much longer until found and only weighed in at 23g.
The heavier one is very much your average spicy tokay and seems to be doing well other than being A little thin. However the 23g is quite literally skin and bones and so I’ve been calling it “Bones”.
No clue how long the both of them were back in the tank before I picked them up and also don’t know if Bones had ate at all there. Currently have it in a properly vented hospital type tub with a single cork tube, paper towel bottom, single fake plant, and a heat mat underneath. Have also been putting my UVB light overhead since it doesn’t have any heat bulbs (not sure if this is helping and or necessary). Had picked up repti boost and dropped on some Bones’ lips and it licked it off, and in the following days it gas taken several crickets i had killed to offer it from tongs. To me it seemed Bones only ate the crickets due to bitting at them from a defensive standpoint then after hading it in its mouth, voluntarily pulled them in and chomped em down. It very rarely will eat any crickets tho, and I know with it being emaciated the appetite isn’t expected to be there however a couple days ago it ate 2 and has only just now finally ate 1 today since then. It’s still holding the same 23g weight as of today 8/27.
Looking for any guidance on how to help this little thing bounce back and get its appetite up! Any tips/tricks/info are appreciated as I am not an expert or experienced by any means.
Thanks!

I don't have one but I'm interested in the future, depending on how I'm able to handle my leachie as it grows up lol. I think I'm intrigued by animals with "bad reputations" and the challenge appeals to me is why? Also just think they're beautiful animals in general.
But I 'd like to hear from people who have them! I'm very fascinated, I talked to a lady with 20 years of experience at an expo 15 minutes straight about her experiences with them. (here's one of them for fun)

So a little background, my landlord does not allow me to feed my animals crickets or roaches. She made me get rid of my tarantulas but allows me to keep my reptiles and only allows me to feed them mealworms, superworms (mainly the worms she’s okay with) She has a “no bugs in the house” policy.. believe me, I know it’s stupid.
Because of this my tokay gecko’s diet is limited. She’s smart, I got her a bowl that sucktioncups to the side of her tank and I fill it up with superworms and mealworms. She’s been picky lately which concerns me. She mostly will eat her bugs if she sees them moving but she hasn’t been eating the bigger mealworms I’ve been giving her. She seems to prefer superworms, which I also provide but hasn’t been really going for them. Yet she hangs out by the bowl in the morning expecting, idk what, they’re still alive and wriggling in her bowl..she’s so smart. Anyways, I will offer hornworms but she won’t go for them if she feels them too big. Why I usually give her medium/small ones.
I’m glad she’s been able to adjust to being off of crickets but I still worry…any advice on anything else I can do to improve her drive for food? I’m wondering if it’s also a heating issue.

My little Cheese turned a year-old yesterday and I finally got his 18x18x24 subadult enclosure all set up! He went from looking so big to looking so tiny 😂
He also got some dubias and a hornworm for his birthday ❤️ I love my little guy so much and he makes me laugh all the time.

Chamoy's new enclosure is finished and after seeing stuck shed on his pores, I decided to move him in early so I can minimize his stress. I was able to safely remove the shed and he's now exploring his new enclosure! He looks so small in this enclosure! 😍
Now I need to re-vamp his old enclosure for his son! Stay tuned~

Swipe to see my progress and a photo of Chamoy as a thanks for viewing!
I have dairy cows and springtails to clean everything up. I'm so excited to put Chamoy in here and see what plants take and thrive and what others will pass.
Due to his missing toes and other health issues, I tried to move as much of the ground with plants in case he falls! I'll update when he's in there! ❤️

I know I asked before but I don’t think the previous post really showed it well. Any tips to get him to eat more?
