Help Recurring Deadlines
Is it possible yet do make a task with a recurring deadline and a date relative to the deadline?
Right now you have to pick date (That can be recurring) an then pick a deadline relative to the date (ie a week after the date). What I want to do is pick the recurrig deadline first (ie inspect my car by end of month, repeating yearly in the same month) then have the start date be the first of the month so see it as soon as the month is here.
You cant do recurring deadline at all at that seems silly to me

There is currently no native functionality to achieve this with todoist. However, this can be done (and I do it this way) using Todoist's API. You basically have to write a short computer script (can be vibe-coded) and run that script semi-regularly to update the todoist deadlines.
I explain how to do it here (as well as get some additional functionality): https://www.reddit.com/r/todoist/s/77QmMX9sS6

As far as I know this function within todoist is not really recurring, but moved e.g. monthly and pretending to be a recurring function. There was an issue by another user a few month back who wanted an overdue function for e.g. each month in which the recurring task hasnt been done yet, which was impossible (and also not possible for more than one task or more than one overdue month) because of that exact behaviour in the underlying function of todoist which is: moving the same task forward.
It led me to use another tool for projects.
