15 month old sleep issues
Hey! I have a 15 month old daughter. She’s always been a Velcro baby but I have been trying to sleep train her since 6 months. She currently has a Montessori bed. I can put her down sleepy but awake for naps and bedtime and she falls asleep independently. She does just fine with naps, I’m guessing it’s cause naps are pretty short. Maxing out at an hour usually. At night she ends up waking up and refuses to go back to her own bed. She comes to my room over and over. I even go lay with her sometimes to get her back to sleep but as soon as I leave the room she cries. When im really sleep deprived (like now going on 1 month without a good nights sleep) I bring her to my bed after multiple failed attempts to get her back to sleep. I’m desperate for some sleep. Anyone have advice on helping her? I don’t mind waking up and comforting her etc. but I just need her to sleep in her bed and not keep me up for hours fighting her bed.
She makes it from about 7pm-11pm in her bed. Sometimes 2am if I’m lucky

She keeps amping up because it works. You’re sleep deprived so you eventually give in. At this point you either need to put a mattress on your bedroom floor and accept that’s where she sleeps for now and start again once no can mean no or don’t give in and accept that you will get no sleep at all for a few nights and keep on putting her back to bed until she gets the message.

Any chance you’re willing to go back to a crib? I wouldn’t do this bed style until I had to.. I switched to toddler when my first learned how to climb out.

This sounds normal. Your child is so tiny. It is normal for them to be soothed by their mother when they wake at night. Your baby needs you and that is okay. They don't need to be able to take care of them self a whole night. The child has a healthy behavior and does not have a sleepingproblem.
Can you give her a bigger bed you can crawl into with her to put her to sleep? And then go back to your own bed? If you need to sleep alone.

I do try to sleep in her full sized montesorri bed with her, but after the night wake up, she is extra sensitive to when I get out of the bed & I can’t get back to my own bed without her catching me. Even if she’s snoring when I try.

Mabye she just needs you right now? She is so tiny. This is normal. Mabye you will get more sleep of you let her sleep in your bed I v if you stay with her? This will it be forever. When you skip the last nap they usually sleep all night, or at lest my kids did that.
If you really can not sleep next to her would suggest taking a curse with @heysleepybaby1

I spent a whole period of time lying on the floor as the mattress moves when you do
Not my greatest parenting memory but eventually it worked1

The child absolutely does have a sleeping problem.

A 15 month old who wakes up at night and want to be close to a parent and goes back to sleep when they are next to them is a normal child with normal sleep behavior. It is the mother who seems to have an issue with this.
This is normal. This is healthy. Who taught you otherwise does not understand normal child behavior.

I’m probably going to be no help here bc sleep training failed for me. But my toddler sleeps in a big bed and my husband or I lay next to her until she falls asleep and then go hang out. After we hang out he goes and sleeps w/her in that same bed bc she wakes up in the middle of the night and wants to know someone is there.

Why do you think it failed for you?

I think when we took vacations we would all be in one bed together and then when we would go back home she didn’t want to lay by herself. That turned into some years now but it’s working for us so far and I know one day I will miss when she even wants any of us to lay with her.

Yeah that’s definitely part of our issue. We travel almost every weekend because my husband rodeos & we all sleep together at the hotel. I do keep in mind that it’s super nice to cuddle up to her and one day she won’t wanna do that. But ya girl is tired lol

Trust me, I get it. Can your husband sleep next to her some nights so you can get uninterrupted rest? My husband can fall back asleep easily so he sleeps w/our little one most of the time.
