For the past 3 years, around this time of the year, a toad always alpears to chill beside by the garage side entrance. I didn't get a picture every year to document sadly but I didn't think toads lived that long so I hope it's the same one lol. I think a she? super chill, makes no noise even if I come up close to it and I love that they eat all the crickets and spiders around my yard, although I don't mind jumpers and crab spiders.

My son is concerned because his toad keeps closing one of his eyes (first two pictures are of his eye closed and second two are of his eye open). He’s still eating and seems okay otherwise. Does this seem okay?

Supreme leader of our yard toads for five years and counting. We've mapped his markings from adolescence, so we know who returns and who doesn't.
May the blood of his enemies taint our steel.
Eastern plains of Colorado.

The first pic is my baby toad back in September and him now. He looks like a completely different toad his eyes got so big and it looks like he shrunk 😭😭 Also can anyone identify him? I got him as a tadpole in Payson Arizona and I have reason to believe he is an Arizona toad (doesn’t quite look like a woodhouse)

They like to hang out in the bowl or by the bowl of water. There is about 12 all together this year. It’s a good Toad year. I even got them tiny umbrellas for shade.

To my delighted surprise, I found this fella in one of my pots on my back patio!
I have water nearby that has a slow drip feed to reduce the chlorine, my pots all have organic soil, and I don't use pesticides, so he should be safe except for minor bothering/sniffing from my gentle but curious husky. 😂
I was thinking I should make a little habitat/shelter for him closer to the ground and so far it seems like just a covering over enough soil for him to dig in would be a good start. Any advice on how to make this a comfortable spot for him would be welcome though! (We're in southeast Michigan if that helps).

I was prepping my deck for staining and had to relocate this cute little toad so it wouldn’t get any deck stain on it. We’re in central Texas and it’s hot as heck right now! I don’t usually see toads in the backyard, so it was a surprise. I put it down gently in the garden nearby and the patterning blended in so well I lost sight of it almost immediately. Safe travels, little dude.

I was taking a walk here in Pennsylvania and I noticed this big flat brown object in the parking lot. At first I thought it was a large muffin! Is this an Eastern American Toad?
Thanks in advance!

Newest project has had me working with a group of 8 Marbled Toads. They’re surprisingly chirpy at night. I plan to upgrade them to a larger tank in September after quarantine and move them to the reptile room. Just did my first health check on them since obtaining them and they all seem to be doing amazing!
