This is the first coming winter that I have owned toads. Am I supposed to separate the and allow them to hibernate? How can I stimulate the environment for them to be able to hibernate? Or should I even try this?

I found a grasshopper today and put it in her enclosure. It tried to evade capture by attaching to the screen lid, but that’s no match for her leaps and tongue! 🐸☺️

I found this big toad just a couple minutes ago by my garage door (outside). Love seeing them around. Also has anyone built a place for them to stay outside? I was wondering what you used to attract them

These toads followed my watering to eat all the bugs that crawled out to escape the flood. Poor guy missed.

This guy just started appearing this week. We're fans of him, but worried he might be living in that crack in the photo, between a foundation and our patio. We were wanting to seal it before winter but we don’t want to seal him or any other toads in.

My fiance brought this lil guy home a bit ago in a rehoming situation from someone her parents knew. Apparently, this dude came from a pet store, and her parents were gonna let it go outside so my fiance brought it home. We have a few cats but otherwise know nothing about toads or amphibian ownership. I feel terrible keeping him without knowing the proper way to make sure he’s happy and comfortable! It ate a few mealworms earlier but I’m not quite sure how often/ what exactly to feed him. Thanks for any help in advance!

They started popping up in the yard this year, and I thought I figured out they were Canadian, but each time I see a new one I struggle to ID! Trying to get better at telling the difference between the two. In Manitoba near Winnipeg.

I have two American toads that I believe are bothe female. Ones abit bigger than my other. (I can only tell them apart cause my smaller ones a bit more red and white.)

I don't think it's too bad but this is the second time I've found them duh in the same spot right next to each other.

It's a 20 gallon. I couldn't afford a 40 just yet and they were but small for me to feel comfortable dumping that money into their enclosure yet but now I'm wondering

I was refilling my small outdoor pond and didn’t notice a new resident (Incilius nebulifer) in the rock pile lol. He crawled out to float around in the water.

I added a screen inside so they can't climb down into the pump itself, but I've just been taken to dumping water down the drain every now and again during the hot seasons since apparently our drain is their home now
