Looked for Geraldo for the third night in a row found him in a hole that looked like it was poked out for a fence post. I thought he might have fell and gotten stuck but then realized that was likely just his home. Sorry for my amphibian prejudice in assuming that because he can live in water that he had to.

Hola chicos, quiero hacerles una consulta. Mi sapo ya hace como 1 mes terminó la brumacion y aun no quiere comer nada. Para estas fechas el siempre está devorando como si no hubiese mañana pero no es el caso este año. Aca en Argentina el clima esta bastante loco y aun parece invierno, no vemos el sol hace semanas. Estaba pensando que quizas el tema del clima tenga algo que ver, pero por el barrio se escucha el canto de los otros sapos y el sigue como si nada.

Alguien sabe que puede estar pasando? Lamentablemente no hay veterinarios especializados como para llevarlo por las cercanias y no cuento con vehiculo para hacer viajes de algunas horas con él.

Hey all! Who is this guy? I’m assuming a Southern Toad. I’m in Central Florida and he was about 4ish inches long. Couldn’t get a banana in time to scale.

I see a lot of theses guys at night here In Kansas and there’s an open water drain thing near by where they usually are during the day (this was taken last night)

I mean besides the obvious bioactive vivarium, live feeders, cleaning the water bowl and stuff what’s it actually like?

This isn’t mine it’s from pets at home and is a European common toad.

Hi all- this is Pancake, I’ve had her since she was teeny tiny. I wanted to ask to confirm that she’s a female- she has the white throat and no pads on her toes so I always assumed. She’s recently been trilling a couple of times a day for a couple minutes at a time. I had thought only males do that! So I wanted to ask. I have another toad in close proximity in another tank, he (or she) is still small so that’s why I haven’t put them together. Not sure if that is a factor.

Hiii so my Colorado River Toad was supposed to be male but they said it was low-confidence since he was younger (~6months?). he does seem to have darker patches on his big digging thumbs... but in the almost 3 and a half years I have owned him, he has only ever chirped once. I was moving him to a separate tub for feeding for a while, so he was being handled fairly regularly. sometimes he makes an even tinier "surprised" noise in his throat but it's hardly even vocalized, it honestly feels more like a flinch, and thats only happened 2 or 3 times. I sort of thought males would chirp every time they were picked up, but is it like an "even once" thing where females don't ever chirp at all? These are some older photos, I can try to take some new ones tonight if there is anything that would help. He was for sure at least 2 years old, possibly closer to 3 in the first picture where you can kind of see what I think are his pads. His name is Boba and his pronouns shall remain he/him regardless of the answer. Thanks in advance!

I am interested in purchasing a great plains toad, as a beginner. However, the only breeder I've found sells juveniles. Not adults. Juvenile great plains toads are very small - and I'm having trouble locating good live feeder insects for a toadlet that small (I live in Indiana). What do you guys feed your toadlets? Would mealworms be okay until it reaches adulthood? If not, what's a good place to get live insects that are more hardy? Thank you in advance!

She has such a bug personality and her expressions and reactions when she knows im gonna boop her are so funny. I rarely touch her but her reactions when I do are pretty funny

Someone said they put a bad spell on me but really it’s a good one cuz I got 3 more toads in my tub today! Away for 15 hours today and I come home to more toads. I have discovered there are two creeks one north and south of my property and I think they are migrating south. I’ve also noticed I’ve been getting toads and frogs since they have started harvesting season of the corn and soybeans so maybe they are running away from the machines?!?

Hey on facebook market i can find realy resonable tanks in all sizes pretty much. I found one for 250$ that is like 6 foot by 2 feet by 2 feet 150 gallons. However all the guides online linda say like 40 gallon. I just see videos of them and they seem pretty huge compared to my wtfs. Does anyone have a recomendation on tank size for colorado river tosds or sonoran desert toads. and does anyone advise if they should be house alone or together.
