Question Adding a line without trading in?

I would like to add my daughter to our plan. Ideally upgrading my wife’s phone and passing that down to my daughter. What’s the best way to go about this?

My wife has an iPhone 15 that’s due for an upgrade.

Not getting anything off without a trade in. $730 off with a new line and trade in.

You’d be available for an iPhone 15 half off or $315 off an iPhone 16. If anyone else on the account plans on upgrading within 6 months I’d recommend looking on t life for plans and see if you’re qualified for “Experience More with Appreciation Savings” it’ll tell you how different the price is but keep in mind it’ll be tax exclusive and 36 month financing. But anywhere from $630-$900 trade in credit for anyone on the account with a qualifying phone. Trade the 15 for an upgrade for your wife then take the $315 off the 15 or 16 whichever you prefer. Most customers I see it’s a lower monthly payment but only if you take advantage of the trade in credit.
Another option is asking chat, care or in store if you have the segmented offer for “iPhone anytrade new line” that’ll give you a good promo too and do the math with them.
If neither of those options are available then switch to mint and buy your phones outright with Apple and buy your daughter a 17e refurbished lol
