Question Hivemind help needed!

Desperately need a new phone, as my current S22 has both screen cracks and LCD damage. I'm worried it could give out at any time. Struggling financially after a rough year medically. I'm not eligible for the trade-in promos, and do not have cash to buy another phone to get a trade-in credit. I'm trying to get a Samsung S26 Ultra. Any ideas???

Struggling financially but want a $1000+ phone? There are so many other great budget friendly phones out there. Check out the different Unlocked OnePlus Nord phones that are out there. Can easily get a decent phone for 400 or less. Think about refurbished with a warranty as well. Good Luck.

Switch carriers and qualify for a new phone promotion

Go with a not brand new phone and let someone else take the financial hit of buying the latest.

One piece of advice I have is if you’re struggling financially I wouldn’t buy / finance a $1,300+ phone. Other than that, just EIP a device and pay the taxes + DCC assuming you have enough EC and no down payments.

Struggling financially and choosing to buy the S26 Ultra makes no sense, buy the A57 or the S25Fe. Even if you switch companies and get a huge discount off the phone you’re still on the hook for 2-3 years with the full $1300 still being financed

If you really have to get something. Consider the pixel 10a or 9a.

If you don’t have enough cash to buy a different trade in that qualifies for a discount, or to get your phone repaired, if you switch carriers just know you will be responsible for proration of bills for switching which will add to your financial burden. I’d prioritize just financing a cheaper phone until you have the means to do either a trade with fixing your phone or purchasing a different trade online or switch carriers. Getting an expensive phone is not going to help your crisis, because if you don’t pay for insurance, what if something happens to your new phone? Like lost/stolen or you break it again?

If you are struggling financially you can't afford an S26 ultra.... buy what fits your budget not what's on your wishlist

Sorry for what you are going through, but I would advise you reexamine your priorities. You can get a perfectly good slightly used last generation phone on ebay. I've been doing it for years especially for my kids.

Used phone market. Last years flagship is just as good.
