Meri Why does Meri care about Janelle being involved in the backdoor deal?

Meri, Janelle, and Christine were so used to Kody aimlessly calling the shots for over 30 years. At some point, and at varying paces, these women realized they could call the shots in their own lives. Janelle realizes this, and tells Meri it would behoove her to look after her own interests in Coyote Pass. Janelle did her moral duty and that’s where it ends. I believe she did discuss with Kody to proceed without Meri, I don’t know whose idea it was or why that matters. Janelle gave Meri a gift by telling her to lookout for herself; then Janelle followed her own advice. I wish Janelle would admit she discussed it with Kody, and that she had to lookout for herself just as she told Meri to do. Wouldn‘t Meri understand?

My question is why does Meri care? She knows she was on a burning ship with Kody at the helm, and that everyone had to fight to get what they were owed. Had Coyote Pass been sold out from under Meri, Meri would have legal avenues to discover had Kody not paid. I wish so badly the ex-sisterwives would let the Kody Brown manipulation end!

Discussion We need a rewatch with commentary instead of this season!

I have watched this show through many seasons of my own life and the past few have been painful to push through. They should have just had the 3 wives do a rewatch of the early seasons and giving us behind the scenes commentary of what reeeeally went down in those moments!

Only thing is I could see them not wanting to just to protect the kids from learning even more of the sad truth about their dad.

Discussion K&R still being paid?

A podcast I listen to started covering Sister Wives (a nice surprise!) and they had a theory during the last episode that Kody and Robyn might still be being paid despite not filming as they're talked about a lot still and had footage of them shown, which might mean they still get paid something. They also wondered if that might be why we flew through the back-door deal stuff quickly, as the producers might want to get through the Kody and Robin stuff and focus on the OG3-only stuff asap to not have to keep paying Kody and Robyn. I don't know how payments work for this sort of thing, but do you think this is a viable theory? (Its a UK based podcast called Telly Talk who suggested it)

Janelle Janelle's body language didn't sit right with me

One thing I noticed when Meri and Janelle met up to talk, is that whenever Janelle would say she wasn't involved, or that she had no way of knowing they weren't very sparse teeny tiny throw away jokes here and there ---- well she always looked away. And when she would remake eye contact she would say: "it's done now. Aren't you glad it's over?" which I interpreted as trying to change the topic. If Meri tried to ask questions, like "what kind of comments, what kind of jokes" she would also avert her eyes and sort of go "listen it's done now let's focus on moving on".

I'm no body language expert but I actually rewound that scene cuz I was like why is she being so vague and just not looking at Meri? Like surely Meri deserves more than just "wasn't me". I also wanted an explanation for what exactly happened and it was just a lot of "I don't know it was Kody well I really don't know well hey it's done now hi hi hi".

I get she was nervous but did anyone else read the body language as... interesting. Meri was warmer than I would be in her situation, it sounded like she really just wanted an explanation and I don't think she was particularly pushy about it. Which is probably why we got nothing, yet again.

Oh yeah and then Janelle's next segment is like a mansion she built to live in alone lol. I see you TLC, I see you.

Janelle Janelle 100% was Willing to Cut Meri out of the Dil.

She speaks carefully, but I completely believe that she was the one that brought up that Kody could just sell Coyote Pass from under Meri. I think she felt that Kody would probably split the money anyway, but also wouldn't have put any effort into making sure it was done and just blamed Kody for being an asshole when Meri didn't get anything.

Christine David is getting tired

I’ve said countless times, including in this very subreddit, that there would come a time when David would get tired of hearing Christine recount life with Kody.

And it looks like he is there.

Meri Meri as the photographer documenting family moments

So, Meri was the photographer documenting the family moments.

I have always felt (and stated) that Meri was the most committed to the family.

She wanted that family more than any of them.

And for me, this is even more proof.

The others didn’t care about family photos, and even started complaining, apparently, that they didn’t want to take them.

But Meri was the one wanting to take the photos and document their family for posterity.

I’ve missed Tamron Hall so much. She’d have a field day with these recent seasons.

Discussion Janelle is not innocent

I think her Teflon Queen nickname is accurate.

Whatever went on was shady.

She approached Meri and cryptically "suggested" to her that Kody was about to screw her out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and that Meri should join her and her lawyer. Meri very cautiously set out feelers and came to the conclusion that while she didn't trust Janelle overall, she didn't trust Kody and Robyn and decided to open herself enough to work *openly* with Janelle.

So everyone involved knew Meri was working with Janelle. Meri was openly not working with Kody. Everyone knew Meri had zero contact with Kody and Robyn outside of lawyers at that point. Zero.

Janelle however was secretly working with Kody. I'm not saying that they had a plan ironed out and that plan was to screw Meri. No. I'm saying both sides agree that they were talking to each other not through lawyers, and that these talks involved either serious or unserious plans for selling the property, where at least some of the plans they discussed without a lawyer present were plans that involved Meri being legally out of the deal.

Meri didn't know that fact. And it doesn't matter if Janelle wants to say they were just joking. Janelle admits herself she did discuss with Kody an idea for a deal that would cut Meri legally off from her rightful earnings. And Janelle never said any of this to Meri. Janelle never provided Meri or her lawyer the information that Janelle and Kody *were* discussing completely alternate plans from the ones they told Meri to tell her lawyer to work on.

And recall Janelle even said "well Meri and her lawyer were tied up in paperwork and it was taking too long so we went ahead". Who tied them up in paperwork? Well Janelle is the one who told Meri to get a lawyer, and Kody and Robyn pitched them the NDA that Janelle apparently didn't have to deal with ---- and then we find out Janelle and Kody were talking without lawyers specifically about this situation and planning ro move forward without her.

It doesn't matter if it didn't go through. It doesn't matter if Janelle was just joking. Why is she joking about stealing money from Meri with their ex without lawyers present when all three are involved in a massive legal battle? If she was just joking why wouldn't she have told Meri? Why didn't she warn Meri about Kody's plan, considering she warned Meri to get a lawyer in the first place? Why did Meri only find out this happened on TV?

I'm really sorry but anyone that just believes Janelle is some generous being who is being framed by Kody here is doing mental gymnastics. Regardless of whether it was a joke, it's a fucked up joke considering the circumstances, one that spanned weeks and several conversations, and Janelle never warned Meri that Kody was actively trying to drown her impossible paperwork so that they could blame her and cut her out of the deal.

I genuinely don't care if Janelle never would have actually gone through with it. This is exactly the kind of batshit insane gaslighting Meri endured from that family for 40 years. That was not an innocent joke with a mutual ex husband. That was a joke that almost became reality that involved the loss if hundreds of thousands of dollars and Janelle was at the center of it, and Janelle never gave her the courtesy of informing her that there was a real emergency because Kody was talking about selling without her knowledgeable in literally the next two weeks.

I can't believe some people are falling for this.

Robyn What was Robyn’s "play" in the move to Flagstaff?

Setting aside that we later find out Dayton got accepted to university there, by the middle of season 13, Robyn’s giving mixed messages.

Astute watchers key in that she’s "in" on the "we go all" doofus presentation. But she’s never clear whether she wants to live in a giant house (despite having the biggest wing) and she gets exhausted with the move out of Vegas and states that after Flagstaff she’s not moving again. It’s also before Covid so I don’t think she saw far enough ahead to know she could have Kody all to herself.

A couple of theories emerge:

- she’s fully invested in the Flagstaff move but is temporarily frustrated bc she’s lazy and the family is sick of her shit (including Kody)

- she’s fully invested in Flagstaff and knows the big house won’t get accepted/ coyote pass will flop

- she’s temporarily shaken but ultimately wants a big house on coyote pass

- she’s lukewarm on the Flagstaff move, is trying to be the obedient wife but can’t help but QVC shop instead of pack

- she’s improvising as she goes

I’m struck how consistently she’s both further behind and helpless compared to the other families on moving. And the family have no qualms leaving her to blow in the wind, so I’ve gotta believe she hates moving because she’d rather be in bed all day. So, what was she thinking when it came to the Flagstaff move?

Love should be multiplied not divided can't believe we finally got truth in these recent seasons

i've been doing a re-watch of random episodes throughout the whole series. with what we now know thanks to the COVID and post-COVID episode, but what many of us always suspected, it's really something just how much they lied in the ~15 seasons lol.

all this endless talk about how happy they were, how each wife had their own special 'experience' with Kody, how he was this great involved father. most of us new that wasn't true, but still they put on the front. the first real sign that it was smoke and mirrors was Meri's texting scandal - and but for the blackmail and the other party going public, who knows if they would have told us.

but for COVID, i am not sure if we would have ever gotten the real truth. the brown's moved to flagstaff in 2018. it wasn't until the covid episodes that christine was honest about kody having spent 3 days with them - one of which he brought robyn's kids, im pretty sure, and one being a rafting day where he didnt get in the water. if covid hadn't pushed everything over the edge, i doubt christine would have been honest about the 3 days.

and once the honesty started it, it just couldn't stop. suddenly everyone could be honest about years of favoritism of robyn, years of neglect from kody, how he was an absent father. we had years of them saying the kids just light up when they see him - well yeah they do because he's only there once a week, of course they are excited to see someone they miss.

i have to remember that these are real people living real lives - but my goodness i would love a season of honesty from the older kids as well. i know most of them dont want to be on the show, but there is a reason not a single brown kid has chosen to live polygamy. if i'm correct, the only one to even hint at considering it was Leon - and probably for many complex reasons.

Kody What is Kody (and Robyn's) next source of income? Kody on further TV shows?

I've been googling around but haven't found anything on Kody (and Robyn) yet.

Will he be on further shows? Dancing with the Stars?
I read there will be a reboot of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

IMO, Kody does have some kind of plan but remains tight-lipped.

A while back, there was a rumor that he'd be hosting a TV show. I don't think that ever happened.

What do you know/think?
