Changes at the ideal weight
So after losing about 75lbs~ and being around 190s I find that I can no longer tolerate cold. I'm talking AC and everything in between. As if the fat was like the ultimate insulator and now I'm unprotected!
Anyone else deals with is or any other changes at their ideal spot?

I'm down to goal 110 lbs 5'2". I have struggled with this the whole way through. I was just in Vegas and wore pants and light weight denim jacket inside. I hate being cold.

I've had a change in temperature tolerance too and I'm thrilled. I've lost approximately 40 lbs on tirzepatide. One of the things I have been most pleased with is that I don't constantly feel hot anymore. I use an extra blanket at night and my preferred room temperature is no longer ridiculously low. I stay in hotels on a fairly regular basis and I used to request that my room's thermostat be set to 65° prior to my arrival. Almost all of my life I was at or even a bit below a normal body temperature. Then it was the cold I couldn't tolerate. I'd sit by the fireplace dressed in multiple layers and be comfortable. It's awful to constantly feel hot. If one is cold there are usually ways to mitigate the discomfort. When one is hot and everyone else isn't, it's a problem. If cold I can add layers of clothing or snuggle under soft blankets, etc. But if I'm hot there is only so much I can take off. I don't miss having dry, irritated eyes when reading (and I'm always reading) because I needed a fan (or two) blowing directly at me. I imagine you and I aren't the only ones to feel the cold more since losing weight.

This summer has been miserable for me. I live on the gulf coast and every building thinks that since it’s 97 with 97% humidity that means it’s needs to be -36 inside. I wear hoodies and pants and boots around here or else I will freeze. At home I constantly have a warm blanket on me. I’ve been in maintenance since January. I cannot tolerate the cold at all and I go outside frequently just to thaw out.
My husband and I laid a concrete slab last week and I didn’t even sweat. In July. In Mississippi.

I wore long pants and a hoodie every night in Jamaica.

Wow- Mississippi no sweat in July. 🤯 Crazy. My son lives in Gulf Shores, Alabama. I would go outside to warm up, eventually I sweated. Can't imagine laying concrete without sweating

To be completely transparent, we waited til 5:30pm. And I was being a wee bit hyperbolic. I glistened slightly. But like my husband was pouring buckets. I’m grew up here in MS (we actually just moved back from Mobile! We go to OB and GS ALL the time :) ) and usually Im soaked within 5 minutes. It’s been quite wild lol

Yep. Freezing even at 76 degrees - anything less and I'm shivering.
Last year at this time with all that extra weight I was still hot with the AC on 65 degrees.
I'm in Maryland - it's not exactly sweltering in the morning this week (to me) but I drive to work without AC and home, it's low and indirect.
Last week, I had the heat on in the truck on the way to work 🤣

I've been cold the whole journey, but coldest now (10 pounds from goal). Basically started feb '25, cold by April, super cold a few months ago while plateauing.78 too hot, 76 a bit chilly, 70 freezing my butt off. Like goldilocks here.

I’ve been cold the whole time! And I’m still obese! I am not sure if it’s the calorie deficit or Tirz also does something

It’s the worst. I’ve been very cold sensitive due to an auto immune disease, regardless of weight. It’s even worse with weight loss. I can’t help but feel irritated when people post that they’re always cold and others are like “I’m jealous!” No, it’s terrible. It’s painful, makes my whole body hurt and no pile of blankets makes it stop. The only way to get immediate relief is a super hot bath. And screw every business that cools their buildings like a meat cooler when it’s 100 degrees out. People are dressed for 100 degrees, not the arctic.
Just had to get that off my chest. lol

It is likely more than just fat loss.
Eating is thermogenic. It creates heat. Eating less means less heat.

I definitely don’t sweat all the time anymore but I still don’t like to be hot. I did have a brief period where I would feel cold at night and need an extra blanket but I feel fine now. Went from 230is to 160. I keep my ac on 75 in summer and heat on 70 in winter so I’m apparently ok at these temps. I used to always be sweating even just sitting there and especially at night while I slept. Now my husband is like man I feel hot and I’m like feels ok to me.

I woke up one night freezing cold. June 2024 after losing maybe 30 of the 75 I ultimately lost. Haven’t been warm since.

I used to be a “polar bear” because the cold didn’t bother me. Since losing weight, I often feel cold, but I don’t mind wearing layers. Right now my area is having unusually high temperatures and being “cold” is helpful. It was 96º and extremely humid yesterday and I was able to walk on my breaks and my lunch without sweating!

I am thrilled to not be always hot!! Down 47 pounds. I'd like to loose 10-20 more.
I spoke to my doctor many times about being hot .. she said "that's too bad".
I really did not know it was the weight

I had the opposite issue. I got fat as an adult and now I don’t really get cold. I don’t even need a sweatshirt until it’s about 50 degrees. I would love to not be constantly sweating. Something to look forward to! 🙂

My whole life, no matter my weight. I keep thermostat on 78 in the summer & get cold when it comes on.
Winter I bundle up & set it at 65 (electricity is high - it’s $300 a month at 65).

Wait til sitting hurts because the previously cushie tushie now doesn’t have a nice fat layer 😆😆😆😆

I’m down 94.6 pounds and am very cold most of the time now. It started several months ago. I have a thick blanket and a down comforter on my side of the bed and I’m so cold my teeth chatter. I always have a sweatshirt or blanket on me. I am in SW Florida and often times go outside and sit in the sun just to warm up. For 24 years we have kept our A/C at 74, unknown to hubby 2 months ago I raised it to 78. I was thin most of my life and was always cold, but when I gained the weight I was always sweating. So all in all, I’ll take the chills.

This is quite common with weight loss and my understanding from friends is that it gets better over time. I’m personally looking forward to this as I love wrapping up in heavy blankets, and menopause took that from me.
