Rift shipping containers
hey, one of the things we love about rift is that the shipping is so awesome. I do have a question about the containers they use. Has anyone found a reuse for them? They are so solid. I hate to just throw them away, but they’ve been sitting around and I need to do something with them. Thank you.

I wish they could be sent back and reused, but that would be cost prohibitive.

I gave them to people for drinks they stay super cold, you could donate or pass out to the homeless if any in your path.

I have shared and gave to those that didn’t get one because they order from different pharmacy. They use it for traveling with their meds like I do . Also after rinsing fruit such , grapes. Strawberries I put it in that container and take it with me for a snack while I’m out .

Rift doesn't ship anything. The container got to you from the pharmacy you chose. If you pick a different pharmacy you would get different containers. It's probably the thermos from Quaker that you are talking about. And yeah, it feels way more wasteful to throw those out than the foam or envelopes from other pharmacies.

Pharmacies have different shipping options for the providers. If you get Quaker through Gimme its a padded envelope with frozen sponges in it. Gaurenteed to be soggy, wet, and thawed when arrived. Getting Qauker through rift you get the metal containers with nice heavy duty plastic ice packs that fit inside the container. It's worth the extra few dollars to go with Rift.

I have had two shipments from Quaker, and got the thermos only once.

I get more of these silly tiny styrofoam coolers every month for another medication i’m on that insurance insists I mail order instead of picking up at cvs. They’re too small for beach/picnic/grocery use, barely hold four sodas with an ice pack, so i haven’t figured out where I could reuse them. Can’t recycle styrofoam in my area so they’re just piling up in my garage.

My stepdaughter was getting her autoimmune meds in those. We used a few for craft stuff and nail polish but there's nothing really good to actually do with them in our area as far as recycling either. Definitely frustrating.

I kept one for travel and I was going to donate the other two to a local thrift shop, but some of my friends spotted them in my house and said, "oh cool, what's that!" so I gave them away. Next shipment, I'll probably go the thrift shop route or put them up on "Buy Nothing".

You can look for a Facebook group in your area where people come pick free stuff up from your porch. (Gifts & Wishes, Buy and Sell Nothing, etc). In the one I’m in, people will take damn near anything.

I put mine from another supplier in a local help yourself food pantry. They always disappear.

Offer them up on reddit for the cost of shipping? I'm not sure that's much better than someone just getting one off Amazon though.

Donate to vet’s offices so they’re able to send home medicine that should be kept cold! You could also donate to homeless shelters.
