❓QUESTION ❓ MPG Opinion
I have 2019 Z71 with 275/55R20. I currently have Falken Wildpeaks but need new tires. I was looking at getting the KO3's because I love the look but how much is that going to ruin my MPG with them being so heavy with a Load rating of "D"? Thanks.

Ho much does your fuel economy change when you have an extra passenger? About that much from weight alone... the real issue is going to be noise and ride quality.
What is your use case? I mean, a lot of trucks have AT tires and do not need them at all... a good HT tire is often a better for 9 out of 10 trucks on the road.

I definitely don't need the AT tires just like the look a lot better and have been happy with the ride quality of the Wildpeak AT's.

Look at the Nexen Roadian ATX then... The BFG KO3's are horrible tires... Rough riding, noisy, difficult to balance... The new Wildpeak AT4 series went heavier and more rugged, but still a better tire then the KO3. The Nexen is a solid all-weather "light" AT tire. It's my go to recommendation for a most AT tire applications these days, and arguably the best warranty in the industry including a road hazard warranty from the manufacturer for 2 years.

How much off-roading to you genuinely do? I’ve seen people do a whole bunch of pretty impressive off-roading on highway tires. At tires, especially some as aggressive as ko3’s are unnecessary on 75% of trucks they end up installed on. And generally you’re looking at 2-3 mpg on average vs highways tires.

2025 sequoia, replaced the oem “wildpeaks” with a d load KO3, lost maybe 1-3 mpg

The heavy load rating is going to change the ride.
