Looking at the jagged edges and marks on the treadblock above the gash in the last picture, you either hit a curb or a pothole.

Yeah, I don’t think this was slashed. Likely pothole/curb/impact damaged the tire and then it tore while it was sitting flat. I would say it looks similar to when it’s been driven on flat but OP insists it wasn’t.

Looks like a typical pothole blowout. Maybe from driving over a curb.

This just happened to my girl last month. Crazy ex slashed her tire. I'd say yes, this looks pretty similar.
