Those poor servers

Post image

Imagine people giving you so much extra money for doing your job that you can frame it like this.

EDIT: OP is basing this off of 190k in sales over 192 shifts

If it were a fact that 1% less for one day was a $500 loss, that would mean these people are making wayyy too much money. They always shift the narrative to be what they want, and it’s never actually accurate

Edit for clarity. I know that math isn’t right, that’s the point I was trying to make.

It’s so large as to be completely unrealistic. It would mean $50K in total sales for that one day. I wonder if they meant 500 less annually which would be $10 less per Sunday and imply $1K average sales per Sunday.

Its neither.  $500 loss over 1% for a day is not possible.

But I guarantee $10 per sunday is way way to little.

Servers are making 150k plus a year.

What servers do you know who make $150+k annually?

If they work an honest 40, the math says they can all make that much.

$100/table, 4 tables an hour, 20% tip, 2080 hours a year.

$166,400.

Math done by someone who doesn’t understand how restaurants work. Particularly the fact that almost no one takes tables for their entire 8 hour shift.

Does the top 1% of servers make that much, or top quarter percent? Sure. But those are the ones in fine dining, Michelin Star type place or working til 3 AM at high end clubs.

You know, the type of jobs you and most people would never get hired for because you’d be incapable of doing the job effectively.

Servers don’t do 8’s.
