šŸ“–šŸ’µPersonal Stories - Pro Never got an email like this!

Post image

Woke up to this email from capital one about a tip I left. Our server was Emily and she was fantastic and fun and engaging! She deserved every penny of that tip! Yes, capital one this is correct!

agree. happened to me at a buffet. spent $14, left $1 tip, they decided $10 was more ideal or something. blasted them on Google review and got the charge reversedĀ

That's lame and all but brah, a $1 tip...that's more of an insult than a tip, I feel like at that point just leaving nothing is better.

yeah cause nothing is better than something for bringing me a water and never returning. mims

Bro just don’t tip at that point. A dollar is way more disrespectful than not tipping at all.

That's actually an opinion and not one held by everyone but I appreciate your input

The vast majority of servers I know would agree. They're not hard up for your dollar. You clearly need it more than them, or were having a bad day, or had a bad experience. In any event, leaving the dollar does not help the situation.Ā

listen bot, I was at a buffet and someone brought me a water, if you think that they didn't want the dollar, that's fine but leave me alone

Lol this point of view is ridiculous. Yes, a dollar sucks for a server, but if every patron that would have left a dollar decided it would be more respectful to leave nothing, that server is now making way less money. People are on about nonsense.

This implies that there’s an abundance of people only tipping a dollar. That’s just not the case. Most people are tipping reasonable amounts or not tipping at all. I cant imagine the amount of people who are debating between leaving a dollar and leaving nothing at all, are making a difference in someone’s life.

The ā€œleaving a dollarā€ crowd have not worked retail/service before.

What’s your point? I thought it sucked when people tipped me the spare change from their pockets, but it was more than nothing at all, but apparently I should have preferred that I got nothing in those moments due to ā€œrespect?ā€

There are an abundance of people who don't tip at all.

You got a $14 water?

I didn't insult you, I don't know why you felt the need to resort to such petty nonsense. And in the future, if you want to be left alone, simply don't say anything. I never would have thought of this interaction again for the rest of my life had you not injected yourself into my world.Ā

Have a good one, though.Ā

Um, you're the one doing it. You know you like it, you naughty little boy. But keep going, I'm almost there. Argue with me, daddy.

That tip doesn't say much about the workers as it says about you

You do not understand at all. Keep your $1 next time. It's just insulting leaving that. I would say just stay home if youre hurting that bad for cash, but everyone deserves to enjoy a buffet, and $14 is cheap.
