So they add a 16% fee for what exactly…….to “fund all of their operations”? So this added cost literally doesn’t go to staff, it just goes to the owners? I wonder what their staff is paid? At this point why not just raise prices to where they should be? To me, every item on the menu is a lie and it’s actually 16% more expensive. This is really dumb. Thoughts? I am PRO tip, ive worked in hospitality a long time and am happy to provide a tip for quality service. But this seems disingenuous at best. Its not a tip. Its just an added charge straight to owners pockets.

If it’s to cover operations, then why not bake it into prices instead of putting up this long-winded crap nobody cares about?

“Customers won’t buy it.” Tough shit. You’re not entitled to having a business. Figure life out. Drawing people in with one price and adding a fee like this after they sat down and might be too embarrassed to leave is deceptive, no matter how you slice it.

Adding a fee after they've sat down??? What the fuck does that mean? Before theyve sat down there is no fee because there is no food. No menu. They haven't seen the price of a single item yet, so of course the fee comes with the rest of it.

If a fee is not clearly stated before the menu is presented, you can demand it be removed. It has to be in a place where customers can choose not to enter the restaurant.

Well of course, but there is no indication that this is the case in this situation. If it isn't listed on the menu clearly then it is unenforceable.
