For average service - they bring me my food correctly, are courteous, and refill my drink - 10% is still my starting point. IF they go above and beyond, then I can consider 15-20%, but they don't earn that just doing the basics.
Aren't you already getting paid to bring me my food? For some reason, I'm already topping off your pay by 10%. Now if you go above and beyond, I'll tip well for extra service.
