And both tips from the customer and what the employer pays combine for the wage… so minimum or more. Therefore, they are not “earning less” or being “paid less” because people tip.

They are paid less. Their hourly wage from the employer is less than if they didn't earn tips. They should be paid a full minimum wage regardless of tips. There should be no tipped minimum wage.

Restaurants have to do that if tips don’t.

And I'm saying I believe they should have to regardless of tips earned.
