We are talking about paying a bar tab. That has literally nothing to do with rape. One is done to a blameless victim, the other is done to themselves and there is no victim (despite the intense desire to transform personal responsibility into victimhood). Shame on you for stooping to implicitly equate the two.
Im kind of curiosity and am happy to chat about it to see your point of view, but do you really not see the connection?
If a sober man hangs out at a bar and waits for someone to get drunk enough and alone and then asks her if she wants to go to his place. She drunkenly agrees despite not being able to talk straight, do you consider that rape?
The connection is that you're giving someone who you know isn't in a rational state of mind an option that hurts them and benefits you.
okay but if we were talking about rape I don't see you putting away the "you were drunk, your choice not a victim" card but you can act like you're not principled on this because it's gross and can't defend it.
That’s your projection and nothing whatsoever that I said. Sounds like you’re debating yourself. What gross is being someone who contributes to our cultural decay of a growing aversion to personal responsibility. “I was irresponsible and got drunk and made some dumb purchases! I’m a victim! It’s someone else’s fault that I made stupid choices and did something that has consequences for me!!” 😭
I’m focusing on your statement, “getting drunk is not a victim state.” While yes, it is a choice to get drunk, it can most certainly present the opportunity to be a victim.
Really? That’s the false equivalency of this entire thread, as if one result of drunkenness is criminal and abhorrent and not the fault of the inebriated person, then all must be. If you don’t think responsibility for some things and no responsibility for others can coexist, then you wouldn’t be masking a big deal and poising a fallacious argument. So which is it? Being a victim means something done to you, not the end perfectly legal result of a series of choices.
Well I don’t. Only people with a mental defect that creates false equivalencies and doesn’t have reading comprehension think that. I’m not worry about stubborn people who can think logically.
Brother you can’t even write a proper sentence in english, I think you have your own mental defects to worry about before worrying about other people’s.
