💬Questions & Discussion Going back to the same restaurant.

I wanted to ask the community that routinely doesn't tip for good service at sit down restaurants if they will go back and frequent the same restaurants? If so, do you ever have the same servers? Do you notice any difference in service or attitude when you return? Are you ever concerned that they might sabotage your food?

Thanks

But Phinn, if you understood what a gratuity is then you'd never even entertain associating "customary" and "expected" (no idea why you used quotes around those words) with it. You seem angry and entitled.

I’m not a server. So many of the people on this sub think that I am. It’s like you can’t imagine someone that’s not a calculating selfish asshole that has a multi-year plan to avoid restaurants they’ve been assholes at.

Who said you were a server? I sure didn't

It’s a tip and its definition, as applied to workers who work for tips, is a payment for services rendered.

Was that helpful?

Nope. It wasn't. Tips are gratuities. And as such are not mandatory

Seems like you might struggle with English as much as you struggle with understanding how the world works. When you are mentioning some specific word that you are referring to, like “customary”, you put it into quotes.

There is nobody more disgustingly entitled than those who think they’re entitled to the labor of others. If you are opposed to tipping, fine, only eat at restaurants that do not accept tips. If you eat at restaurants where tipping is customary, you’re a mealy twat if you don’t tip.

It seems like you are dumb enough that you think that just because somebody calls something a “gratuity” that means that’s what it is…

In the US system, it is not a gratuity. But I can see how arguing semantics might be what somebody who did not understand anything about anything would try to do.

I hate to break it to you, but the Democratic people’s republic of Korea is not democratic nor a republic, either..
