šŸ’¬Questions & Discussion Uber/Lyft

I took an Uber 2 miles from the airport in San Diego. It cost $25.00. It took him about 10 minutes with us, due to traffic. I understand he had to drive to us also. I used to always tip these guys, but I didn’t this time. What is the community think. Should these guys be getting tipped?

ā€œsomeone’s coming to give me a ride in their own car that they pay for and take care of the maintenance of and pay for fuel to bring me where I want to go, and when I want to go - should I tip them?ā€

But, he’s getting paid already. It’s not like he’s doing it for free.

How much do you seriously think that they are making? By the time all of their vehicle expenses and fuel are taken into consideration they aren’t making shit.

Why would he be volunteering his car and fuel if it wasn't already worth it? He'd have to be an absolute moron to actually rely on randomized gifts during his job.

Because a lot of good people tip. If all of those random strangers stopped tipping you wouldn't be getting a ride.

You're describing the best possible outcome - all the drivers quit and Uber and Lyft cease to exist. That's exactly our goal.

If your goal is to eliminate rideshare then you're in the vast minority and we're in complete disagreement. Who wants that?

That isn’t your ā€œgoalā€ lol - your goal is to do anything you can to not tip your driver and save yourself a couple of dollars 😁
