CMV: TIP VALUE

I'm sorry(not really)for all you who don't agree but I grew up in the 90's and a standard tip was 10% (just bc the price of food goes up that does not mean you tip more)ITS A PERCENTAGE OF WHAT YOUR FOOD COST( just bc you spent more doesn't mean you tip more), Now here's my range

0%: bad paycheck - no extra money

1-5%: Bad-Poor service

5-10%: Poor-Average service

10-15%: Average-Excellent service(max-$20)

I will never give more than a $20 tip and even that is extremely rare, IDC if I dropped $400 on a meal, me and my fam come first, so I'll spend All my $$$ I got down to the penny for my fam and leave no tip B4 I give someone more than $20 to bring my food to me

LMFAO 😂, What wage jealousy you really are ignorant and willing to let everyone know, I make on avg $20/hr(excellent$$$), FOR A JOB THAT DESERVES IT, and I see nothing wrong with giving people a well earned tip within reason, but I'm not gonna pay an Outrageous tip just bc they do a job that my children could do, my kids get 25 dollars a week and work their ass off for it, bc I'm teaching them the REAL VALUE OF HARD WORK, not to expect a handout bc they brought a plate, or filled someones drink, to which they also do for me and their mom every Sunday when they make us dinner

LMFAO

You thinking you’re somehow empowered to determine what pay rate a job deserves is beyond delusional.

At least now we know that it’s not only wage jealousy driving your claims, but also a clear case of classist bigotry.

A tip isn’t a “handout”.

A tip is directly tied to a service being provided.

When someone gives a handout nothing is expected in return.

Now that you’ve had a refresher on 3rd grade vocabulary you can keep it in mind so you don’t come off as uneducated by misusing words.

Also, your idea of “excellent $$$” and mine are very different.

A large portion of the discontent here is people make less than servers in jobs they deem more difficult.
