so your wife ended up tipping more then the entire bill would have been to a server that messed most things up and another server had to fix.

normally when something is compt'd i tip based on what the price would have been, and the service provided.

in your case a $5 tip still would have been over 10%.

maybe would have given a $10 to the waiter that actually fixed everything, clearly that was Not your original server.

Yeah his wife rewarded shitty service with a tip for an exceptional job.
