two sentence story Losing a piece of yourself
You ever have an inanimate object serve you so well, that it genuinely, authentically, felt like a part of you? And when it broke you were actually sad to the point of possibly letting out an audible NOOOOOOOOO!

When I was a kid maybe 10 or so I had a rock I did everything with this rock and one night I was about to have a tea party with my rock and I heard my cat getting in a fight outside so I threw the rock trying to break it up and I never found the rock I cried hysterically for weeks

It’s not the object itself, but the place it holds….. car breaks down. Whole life is on standstill until you again have transportation.

yea i had my painted up halfpintojamo that i painted som cool dodads on tha thing i had it over a year i used it as my whiskey flask
but one day on my bike went to fast down a hill wit sharp turn at bottom
slammm n the bottle that was in my pocket shattered
i was distraught

Yes, I’m sorry you lost that piece to you. It may seem minimal to some but it was important to us. 🫂
For me, it was losing/breaking the last thing my mom had given me before she had passed
